Activists on ALIPAC,
I just created this letter to the editor for activists from ALIPAC . Anyone, feel free to use it, just post if you did, so people don't send the same letter to the same paper. This letter is for your use. May need modified to fit your paper's word count! For topic discussion refer to http://www.alipac.us/modules.php?name=F ... ic&t=60588

Our country is losing more of its sovereignty every day. Factions within this country are moving to take over the rights of American citizens. The latest assault comes from the city of Boston. Boston wishes to give voting rights to non-citizen legal immigrants in local elections. Many other towns and municipalities have done so or are in the process of passing the same legislation. There is a distinct and profound difference between a ‘citizen of the United States’ and ‘a foreign national holding a green card or a visa’. And, with all of the document fraud and identity theft, how can we be sure the alien voters are legally in our country?

By permitting this outrage to become law, Americans are giving political power away to non-citizen immigrants, and letting them have a voice in governmental affairs they have not earned. This is the awarding of a sacred right without the necessary requirement of the responsibility of citizenship. Essentially, we will be allowing green card holders and aliens with visas to shape our laws. Many refuse to learn English!

I believe a majority of Americans still believe this country is made up of citizens with a desire to secure our union and to respect and protect our constitution of this country. We vote with this intention. Most non-citizen immigrants will be voting based their individual needs and not the greater good of the cities and towns where they reside. They may have no loyalty whatsoever to America or concept of what it is to be an American. Many have probably not been here long enough to appreciate America’s greatness.

Bestowing aliens from other countries with the right to vote is a slippery slope, at the bottom of which lies…the dissolution of our nation.
