Amnesty debate should help Hunter, Tancredo, and Paul

I'll bet this obvious attempt by the U.S. Senate to sell out America will help our candidates on the campaign trail (Hunter, Tancredo, and Paul). It should spike their campaign contributions and draw attention to their campaign. Thoughts?

Throw in Mitt Romney as well.

There is no quesiton, the #1 or #2 top issue in the 2008 election WILL BE illegal immigration!

You're right, it will help Romney too. However, I don't really consider Romney one of our candidates. Do you think Romney should be one of our cadidates? If so, why?

Unlike Hunter, Tancredo, and Paul, Romney has not been strong on the issue for very long. Personally, I think he's just saying what he thinks John Q Public wants to hear. Hunter, Tancredo, and Paul, have been vocal on the issue for a lot of years. Furthermore, their voting records speaks volumes on where they stand, especially in the case of Hunter and Tancredo. What has Romney done to prove he's a man of action on the issue?

    MW,
I agree, Romney's actions over the years certainly doesn't make him one of our guys. Lately what he's been saying is more in line with us but I'm a bit hesitant. I'd like to think he came over to our side but I'll take Hunter or Tancredo any day.

I really like Hunter, Tancredo and Paul...Romney received a HUGE boost when he flat out said this immigration bill was bad.

Wasn't it in South Carolina, where Graham was booed by his home crowd and Romney was cheered? That says a lot.

Make no bones about it: in the 2008 election election, illegal immigration is going to be the top issue for most voters. Not just for the Presidency, but all government positions.

I have talked with a lot of family and friends and they all feel the same. We all want to vote out Boxer and Feinstein in 2008.

Don't you mean, "let's throw out romney as well?"
He's a flip flopper, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

Romney concerns me. He recently said we needed some type of guest worker program, then he flopped on that when he saw all the negative publicity coming out on the Senate plan. If he ends up being the Republican nominee, I'll have to support him and hope he can be trusted. But because of the flip flop, he would not be my first choice.

I'm sticking with Paul, Tancredo or Hunter, just to be safe !!!

Yeah, having a choice between Romney and Hildabeast doesn't live a person with many options.

Has anyone noticed that McCain has absolutely lost his marbles?

When Romney was governor here in Massachusetts, he was very much against illegal immigration. We got a couple of things passed - no in-state tuition for illegals and something about restaurants can't hire illegals because they have not been checked for diseases (not sure of exact wording there).

I don't think he would ever pander to illegals, I'll say that much.

Of course, now we have Gov. Patrick, who is totally FOR illegals!
