Thread: Verizon Illegals in Aberdeen

Anyone want to take a crack at this? I rode by a utilities project today in Aberdeen, MD (Harford County...not far from Baltimore) where I live, and there were at least 20-30 men of Hispanic origin working for a company that said "Verizon Subcontractor" on its unmarked trucks (or, if there was a company name, I don't remember seeing it). Guess how many African Americans, Caucasions, and Asian Americans I saw at the job site? You guessed it. Zero!

I know in my heart that most if not all of them are illegal, based on my knowledge of Harford County, Maryland, and its demographics. I won't call ICE, though, because I've tried in the past, and they usually rejected me, citing that the appearance of the workers is not enough info to go on. I have no knowledge of this company (subcontractor to Verizon) and its hiring practices.

This took place at 1:45pm on 9/4/08 off of West Bel Air Avenue in the heart of Aberdeen, MD, 21001. I'm sure that this will go on for a couple of days at least.

Anyone in Maryland on this site wanna take this on? I'm not sure what to do. Calling ICE, which I used to do, usually seems to be a waste of time, especially since I have nothing to go on but a gut feeling.

How about calling Verizon and ask some questions about who these subcontractors are? You don't have say who you are, just ask questions like did they go through e-verify when they hired them? I maybe off base here but just thought I'd throw it out there.

How about calling Verizon and asking them, from a payphone?
Call corporate Verizon too!
How about calling Homeland Security?
How about calling Joe Arpaio's station and asking him what to do?
