    Legal Immigrants

It's late and I should be finishing up my book I bumped across this letter to El Bushio from a legal immigrant, or should I just say immigrant. I bet these people from all over the world who came here the honest way are just livid. It's true when they say the Central Americans are getting special treatment. This whole situation is just goofy

How do we "LEGAL IMMIGRANTS" recover our MONEY SPENT TO ACQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP???

    To:
    President George Bush

    April 28, 2006

Please tell us how we LEGAL IMMIGRANTS obtain applications, reimbursement vouchers, etc. from the U.S. Federal Government FOR OUR VERY EXPENSIVE FEES CHARGED (AND PAID) to follow the required LEGAL U.S. IMMIGRATION LAWS AND PROCEDURES?

We have been LEGAL American Citizens for over 14 years and we had spent much time (1 year and 7 months) waiting for authorization to enter America; we spent a substantial amount of money in application and processing fees and we would like that money refunded to us as soon as possible.

Before entering the United States, we understood that it is ILLEGAL TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ANYONE BASED ON RELIGION, ETHNIC BACKGROUND, RACE, ETC. But suddenly this PROMISE AND COMMITMENT HAS CHANGED. Mexicans are welcome to enter America at any time with no applications, no fees and no waiting time.

Now we see that, because we immigrated from Italy and Germany, we were, indeed, DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. We WERE FORCED TO USE THE LEGAL ENTRANCE PROCEDURES...this was not an option. Why were we singled out, Mr. Bush?
We have attempted to get answers and resolution through ICE and INS but if we are lucky enough to find someone who answers these telephone numbers, they claim "there is nothing in place to refund immigration processing fees".

WHY HAVE YOU DISCRIMINATED AGAINST US? We are good citizens, with worthwhile professions and we pay into America's tax system willingly. We volunteer our personal time to America's Social Service programs, contribute time and money to help America's neglected elderly and tutor 4th graders at our local public school....we are hurt and confused. We came to America with the intent to improve our lives and contribute to American society (not just money motivated). WHY ARE WE TREATED "DIFFERENTLY" THAN MEXICANS. Honestly, we need an immediate answer.
