    Please Support Saxby Chambliss

Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) will be in a runoff election on December 2. (He received more votes than his Democratic challenger, but not the 50% required in Georgia.)

Sen. Chambliss has career and recent immigration grades of A from NumbersUSA. He has also been endorsed by ALIPAC, and this endorsement is listed on Chambliss's campaign website.

Please support him if you can. With the defeat of Senators Dole and Sununu, we will need Senator Chambliss's help in fighting amnesty:

    I can pray for him.

Hey, I think he will be OK. The people with Obama fever will not show up to vote in the runoff but the Republicans need to light a fire under the tails of thier SC voters so they will vote in the runoff because runoff turnout is very low.

This about illegal immigration is on Sen. Chambliss's campaign website:

    IMMIGRATION REFORM
Let me be clear at the outset – lawful immigration and legal immigrants are not the issues. America has always been a nation of immigrants.

The issues are unlawful immigration and illegal immigrants.

The concern is that today in America we have a major problem with illegal
immigrants crossing our borders, taking up residence in America,
overcrowding our schools, hospitals and so very often, our jails.

Frankly, congress has not done a very good job addressing this issue for about two decades now and it is imperative that we find a solution and find one fast.

If we don’t secure our borders, then nothing else we do relative to immigration reform will really matter.

Second, I want you to know that I am absolutely opposed to any amnesty for illegal immigrants. That is why I did not support the immigration bill passed by the U.S. Senate in 2006.

History proves that amnesty will not work. Congress allowed amnesty in a 1986 bill, and since then, estimates indicate that illegal population in our country has more than doubled.

We have to solve this problem for two basics reasons: you future and your
    freedom.

Let me hear from you on this issue that is so vital to our national security.

I am at a loss as to why Saxby gets an A. He co-authored that amnesty bill with McCain, Kennedy and Isakson. He later changed his vote only after the large outcry, but just remember he is in the pocket of the rich farmers in south GA. His son is a lobbyist for ethanol. He criticized a whistleblower at the sugar plant that exploded and killed and maimed quite a few workers because they were operating unsafely, and then blamed the whistleblower. Like he would have kept his job if he spoke out sooner - yeah right. He was part of the gang of 10, voted for the farm subsidies and supported the bailout. He would open the borders as wide as possible given half a chance.

Name one thing he has accomplished to get me to leave my house to vote for his sorry butt. I have written him many times about demanding the release of Ramos and Compean and have heard nothing. And then there were the personal attacks on Max Cleland, an amputee from Vietnam who lost both legs and an arm - even blamed him for his war injuries. Did he serve - hell no. All his ads attack his opponent but he has not named one thing he has done.

Saxby represents all that is wrong with the Republican Party, he is the poster child. My husband and I voted for the Libertarian, who I was absolutely unimpressed with, only because the other two were unacceptable. If the Republican Party wants my vote, they need to run a worthy candidate. I would never tell anyone how to vote, but he is working for the enemy.

McCain, Huckabee Set to Campaign for Chambliss

    Tuesday, November 11, 2008 2:45 PM

    By: David A. Patten

The GOP is rolling out its big guns — including an appearance by Sen. John McCain — in an all-out bid to win a Georgia runoff election that may decide whether Democrats enjoy unfettered control of the U.S. Senate.

The Dec. 2 runoff pits incumbent Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss against Democrat Jim Martin, a Georgia attorney and Vietnam veteran. A Martin victory would put Democrats on the verge of attaining the 60-seat majority they need to stop any Republican filibuster of proposed legislation.

The Chambliss campaign announced late Monday that McCain will be the featured speaker at a 4:30 p.m. “victory rallyâ€

Obama Aides Head to Ga. to Help Martin in Senate Runoff

    Tuesday, November 11, 2008 1:00 PM

ATLANTA — Aides who worked in Barack Obama's presidential campaign are heading to Georgia to help Jim Martin in his hotly contested Senate runoff, two Democrats close to Martin's campaign said Tuesday.

The sources, speaking only on condition of anonymity on a matter of campaign strategy, said the Obama field operatives will help with Martin's grass roots turnout in the three weeks left before a Dec. 2 runoff against incumbent Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss. They stressed that the campaign is still staffed primarily with Georgia volunteers.

Obama's vaunted grass roots operation is credited with playing a pivotal role in his winning the White House.

Martin's campaign has asked Obama to pay a visit but hasn't received any commitment yet.

Former GOP presidential candidate John McCain will be in Georgia on Thursday stumping for Chambliss. It will be McCain's first foray back onto the campaign trail since losing the White House.

McCain won Georgia with 52 percent of the vote to Obama's 47 percent.

A runoff in Georgia will not become official until Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel certifies election results later this week. Neither Chambliss nor Martin garnered enough ballots to pull above the necessary 50 percent plus one of the vote. Chambliss is just short, with 49.8 percent. Martin, a former state lawmaker from Atlanta, has 46.8 percent. The race also included Libertarian Allen Buckley, who drew 3.4 percent.

But Chambliss and Martin aren't wasting any time. They have been in full campaign mode in recent days and the bruising attack ads that marked the general election campaign have begun flooding the television airwaves again.

The Georgia race is one of three unresolved Senate contests nationwide, along with Minnesota and Alaska. All involve Republican incumbents. If Democrats capture all three, it would give them a 60-seat majority in the Senate, a margin needed to block Republican filibusters.

Georgia's last Senate runoff was in 1992 when Democratic Sen. Wyche Fowler earned more votes on the general election but went on to lose to Republican Paul Coverdell in a runoff.

Thanks Dianne. We need Sen. Chambliss to fight amnesty. His opponent, Martin, mentions on his website, that he (Martin) supports "comprehensive" reform (i.e., amnesty).

Color Saxby Chambliss gone. Just heard on radio McCain will be stumping for him. Should have the same effect as Bush's stumping in 2006 for the good guys we lost. Looks like the RINO's decided to take him out.
