    Need Assistance on SB 1070

Let's say that local or state authorities in Arizona have an illegal, and he has no ID, but has committed no other crimes (except for being in the USA illegally, of course). What happens if the Federal authorities reject that illegal, for some reason? And let's say this happens outside of Maricopa County. Could that illegal alien be booked into jail or deported by local/state authorities, or would he have to be released?

Also, if another state had this law, would that state have to have some sort of state criminal trespass law on the books, in the event that ICE or the Border Patrol did not take the illegal from local or state authorities, or could local/state authorities still put that illegal into jail?

I'm trying to read the bill myself, but I'm not sure about these two items.

ICE always accepts prisoners brought to them at their detention centers but will suggest releasing a police detainee if the police can not bring the detainee to them. The problem is that neither ICE or local police have enough logistical resources for transporting every prisoner. The state should provide a dedicated united bus service for logistic assistance as the state has hundreds of municipalities.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

The dedicated bus service is a good idea. I think that you've more or less answered my question. It sounds like unless a state has a criminal trespass law, in most situations the police have to get the arrested illegal to ICE, and if they can't, that illegal will be released, unless of course he is a wanted fugitive, or committed a crime (murder, rape, arson, etc).

    Does that sound correct?

    Thanks!

Hey, someone should start a bus/van service to transport these illegals to ICE!

well, school bus drivers only work part time, when the kids ar ein school, load up a bus, you already have a licensed driver, hand cuff them to the seats, one armed deputy can deal with it from there

easy solution, and, it helps an american get a full time job
