    Denouncing Citizenship

I was wondering. Since citizenship no longer seems to have any real benefits, what would our government do if en masse people began give it up? What could they do? Deport us? Like the saying goes, if you can't beat em, join em, right? Just think, you could stop paying taxes, drive without insurance, free healthcare, etc. On a serious note, truly, the couldn't do a @#@$ thing because they have turned a blind eye to such behavior for decades. Can you imagine the shockwave that would resonate throughout the country? The politicians would be faced with a real dilemma, ie; the loss of the very thing that keeps them alive....tax revenue! Is this loco or what?!

In theory, what you've said makes sense. However, in reality, I suspect that this would be considered as some sort of crime against the United States and all involved would be harshly dealt with.

Remember.......these days not all things are equal to all people in this country. Some of us must follow the laws, others are permitted to live lawlessly

Coincidently, I had a very similar conversation with a family member just the other day. I had asked the same thing and I was told that that wasn't possible. That if I denounced my citizenship from the U.S. then I would have to become a citizen to some other country. That
I would "have to belong" somewhere. Is that true?

I am not ready to give up yet. The tide has turned a little over the past 2 years. As citizen voters, we have helped defeat several amnesty bills and now that we have the attention of some lawmakers, we need to speak louder, not give up.

I have seriously been thinking of ways to pay less in taxes though. Almost to the point of taking a lower paying job, just so our inept, socialist government will get less money from me.

I am going to change my W4, IRS withholding form to pay less tax each pay period. It will put a little more money in my pocket each month, that I previously "loaned" the government til tax filing time.
If you are like me and have always claimed fewer dependents during the year than you actually have in order to get a nice "REFUND", please consider changing your W4 on July3rd. July 4th is Independance Day. What better way to send the message that taxpayers are fed up with increasing TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION ?????

I really do not know how much effect this will have but if thousands or hundreds of thousands did this at the same time, the government pocketbook might feel a pinch. Frankly, I fear the "REFUND" at the end of the year is not guaranteed anymore. Our Country is in serious debt, yet they keep spending money we don't have.

Anyway, this is my idea of legal activism.

The ONLY thing that I can EVER be is an AMERICAN, and it is such an HONOR! The REAL problem isn't the country, it's TREASONOUS CORRUPTION in our government and business!

It might be easy to say, but harder to do. I remember being stationed in Okinawa for three years as a military wife. When I arrived back in the U.S. the first thing I did was kiss the ground. All I wanted to do was see Americans and hear English being spoken. Funny now, but that was in the 70's.

There is an unspoken dilemma here.

If our American identity gets eroded to the point that it doesn't really mean anything then what exactly are we?
