    Medical team separates conjoined twins.

May sound a little cold but this surgery performed in LA was to separate the twins of a Mexican couple here on a visa. I thought this is great till I read the last few lines. So I included the link for the whole article and the lines that caught my attention.

" Children Hospital declined to reveal the operation's cost, which will be covered by a state health program. The hospital previously performed five conjoined twin operations since 1966 including three cases in which both twins survived."

Where does it say they were here on a visa? It just says they were visiting their relatives who for all we know could have been here illegaly.

Why can't the mexican government or a private charity pay for the surgery? American taxpayers should not be paying for the rest of the world to get free healthcare.

And since it was paid for by taxdollars, how can they decline to state the cost of the operation?

    NoIllegals,

It states toward the bottom that the couple extended there tourist visa when they found out they had conjoined twins. Yea right, I agree send the bill to Bush’s brother Fox. But I think that this could explain why the border hospitals are going broke. That surgery alone is probably over a half a million dollars. Why should the people of California have to pay for this? They were born and in stable condition. They should of at that point been sent back to Mexico and had the surgery on Mexico’s dime.

But then there wouldn't be two new US citizens, would there?

This is some deal! You're pregnant, you get a free medical procedure that would bankrupt most American citizens, then you get two new citizens in your family to boot.

I'm seriously thinking of immigrating to Europe because, in all honesty, this country is finished. Too bad they're so tough about letting immigrants in over there.
