The sad part is, too many Americans still do not give a dam one way or the other. As long as Americas have this attitude:"As long as they don`t bother me I don`t care what they do" it will be a long time before we..(America)..is back to normal.
In this case "Normal" is good.
jcalex, I'm afraid we'll never be back to normal :(Quote:

Yes, employers should be reported and I have voted. The effect of illegal immigration and outsourcing is hitting home with me now :( . We were told last week that we are going to get pay cuts, big cuts, too! I seriously think these companies are trying to get the American citizens to quit so they can bring in low wage illegals to replace us. I have done my job for 23 years just to be knocked back to wages I made in the late 1980's. Not only that, the cost of my healthcare insurance is going up for the 4th time in the last year and a half and they will not yet even tell us how much! Not only does my company hire "questionable" workers, most of the companies in my area do, too. The illegals I have worked with do not even care if you know they are illegal, heck, they say the government does not care. Bad thing is, they are right!
A pay cut? How many workers were affected? What percentage of a cut?

Voted. You're right, William. We're losing ground.
My tally:
863- 76%- Yes
267-24%-No
I guess we need to remember that this originates in CALIFORNIA.
rebellady--that is just TERRIBLE about the pay cuts and insurance cost rise. That's how American companies are treating LOYAL, LONG-TERM American workers and I think there's no question that you are right in thinking they are trying to force out the higher earning people in favor of new people they can hire for a song. This is just unforgivable.
W, the cuts will be from 30 to 50% of our pay now. This is affecting about 25 workers right now, but before it is over, there will be many more(in other job areas) that will take cuts, too. We are incentive workers and the management has now given us work that used to be done by others, some lower paid employees. Well, most of those employees have been laid off due to plant closings and their work has been pushed on the rest of us. Our machines are not set up for this work and we have to "make do" and do the best we can, all the while watching our pay averages drop day by day. This is so upsetting to us employees who have worked so hard to make a decent wage! My job is considered a "skilled labor" and I was paid pretty well, until now. Some of the employees who average $25 to $30 per hour say they are now down to about half of that and starting Monday(tomorrow), that wage takes effect. I have lost about $8.00 an hour and I expect to keep falling. We are getting screwed and we can do NOTHING about it. All this is going on at my company and the big wigs just gave themselves a huge raise. I keep up with what is happening in upper management and I pass that news on to my fellow employees. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a rough day for management, all the employees are mad and plan to show it!
I found this website interesting. http://wehirealiens.com
A blacklist is good to shame those committing the felony of hiring illegals. I think a whitelist might be more effective. Kinda like the BBB or the RoC (registrar of contractors).
Businesses that do not hire illegals, I think, would join the statewide (or nationwide) whitelist. The whitelist would need to be highly publicized and have a similar effect (if not greater) than the BBB. One could call the whitelist organization to determine whether a particular business is a member before doing business with them. Business could post plaques in their windows that they are a member of this whitelist.
Maybe call it something like Citizens Labor Union (CLU). Hey that's my alias.

I say, HAVE BOTH. You could show both the employers who didn't VIOLATE the law in one columm and the ones who DO VIOLATE the law by hiring illegals in another. That way, you could have a quick comparison guide.
Welcome to ALIPAC, clu.
a CLULIST or was that cluelessQuote:

How in the world is that poll changing THAT FAST? Something fishy going on. I'm gonna see if it will let me vote again.
YEP! It let me vote again. It was 897 and I voted again and it went up to 898. Back to the POLLS!
OK Gang, Ive sent out an alert to all of our folks around the country asking them to support and participate with WeHireAliens.com as well as send them constructive feedback and comments.
I've also directed everyone to the poll.

Our friends at American Patrol have come to our assistance fighting these cheaters. We all know that this electronic poll should read 80-90% yes, but someone is cheating down the numbers today.
American Patrol mounting the poll should add in another couple hundred votes Yes at the very least.

Good I have been keeping an eye on it and don't like what I have been seeing.
Totals this morning:
1407 to 813.
It APPEARED to let me vote twice again. I tried several times yesterday and sometimes it SEEMED to let me vote twice and sometimes it didn't. It MIGHT have just been coincidental and someone else could have been voting at the same time BUT I wouldn't think that would be the case at 3:40 AM! SOOOO---IF I could vote more than once, the NAYS could vote more than once!
I think I've figured out why this poll SEEMS so SKEWED. Note WHERE the poll originated--SAN DIEGO. If you think about it, I would BET that there are ZILLIONS of employees there who DO hire illegals and KNOW IT and they SURE don't want the names of THEIR businesses posted on the internet. I'm willing to bet that's why this poll doesn't reflect the national opinions on this issue.
Seems that there is a timer. The TTL is about 2-5 minutes. If you wait a bit then resubmit you should be able to vote as many times as you would like.
None the least, it is a shotty poll script at best, glad they don't run the real polls.
That was kind of what I discovered too. You do have to wait in between votes but then it DOES seem to allow more than one vote.
I went and looked at the list of companies today that hire illegals. Now, are these confirmed hires or just people making accusations? I have suspected for several years, judging by the TV commericals in the southwest looking for truck drivers, that the trucking companies have been hiring illegals. I'm not surprised to see so many on the list.
I've tried to vote on the poll several times today but it appears it is not working.
Poll is working again. Looks like there has been a big surge in "yes" votes.

thats a little better
The surge in Yes votes is coming from the traffic our homepage article on this is pumping in thanks to our allies at Rense.com
The more online Americans vote in that poll the more it will gravitate to 80+%
This poll was up over 80% till a few days after the story ran someone else out there has taken it upon themselves to skew the results towards the No's
We are compensating by simply pumping more traffic through the poll.
Someone on the other side of this issue is trying to cheat that poll down into the 60 percentiles where it is now. Not even San B is that freakishly liberal.

The yes trend is continuing. Since the last report it has gone 36 to 0.
