Another Worthless Study from LA Raza

The New York Times, a veritable bastion of liberal nonsense, released an article today indicating that a new study, conducted by the Hispanic race mongers at the National Council of La Raza and the bleeding hearts at the Urban Institute, has shown that the 500 children, directly affected in the immigration raids conducted by federal immigration authorities on three Swift meat packing facilities at the beginning of this year, suffered hardship and psychological trauma as a result of those raids.

I like kids. In fact I have children myself, and I know they would have been terribly shook up if they had to watch their father being dragged off by the cops because I did something that was against the law. Since that was not the sort of example I wanted to set for my kids when they were little tykes and highly impressionable, I made certain that I behaved like a responsible adult. I did not break the law and put myself in a position where the police would have justifiable cause to drag me away in handcuffs because I knew it would have a traumatic impact on them.

Illegal aliens are defined by the immigration term that denotes them. They are called illegal aliens because they violated American immigration law when they entered this country without legal authorization. It is a criminal act. Residing in the United States as an unauthorized entrant, working under an assumed name, working under the identity of an actual person other than themselves, failing to pay state and federal income taxes, and moving across state lines to avoid apprehension and prosecution are all federal crimes that illegal aliens commit on a regular basis. The commission of any of the numerous crimes committed by illegal aliens in the U.S on an almost daily basis could result in their apprehension and detention because they are criminals. This fact of life may not be popular, and it may be politically incorrect to say so, but the truth of the matter is that everyone who enters this country without the prior legal authorization to do so, is in fact, a criminal.

The fact that many of the illegal aliens who enter this country every day of the year also bring their children into this country illegally is something I find entirely incomprehensible. In every sense of the word, these people are making the conscious choice to become criminals, and they are forcing their children to become criminals as well. Furthermore, they are doing this with the full knowledge that, at any point in time, they, their spouses, or their children may be apprehended for their crimes, detained by the American authorities for an indeterminate amount of time, and eventually deported to the their country of origin. Despite this knowledge, they sneak across the border in the dark of night, they cross the hostile Arizona desert, hide out in various parts of the country where they can find illegal employment, and squeeze out their criminal livelihood in the shadows of America’s underground. Are we to understand that none of these criminal activities produce trauma in the children that are forced to participate? Most of us can’t even begin to imagine the fear and anxiety these children are subjected to by their own parents as they skulk across the border, sneaking from one bush to the next trying to avoid apprehension.

It certainly doesn’t take a gaggle of pseudo-intellectual racial hucksters to convince anyone that the children of illegal aliens are traumatized when their parents are apprehended by American immigration authorities and the kids are left stranded and alone in a strange country. Whose fault is this? It is certainly not the fault of the American people, nor is it the fault of America’s immigration laws. The continued freedom of the illegal alien parents of these children is dependent on their ability to embed the proper degree of fear and paranoia in their young charges because if they didn’t make their children fearful and untrusting of authority figures they could end up being apprehended and probably deported, possibly even prosecuted for their criminal actions. This is a seriously irresponsible way to raise children and it is highly doubtful that any parent that would subject their children to this sort of life has their best interests at heart.

The entire point of La Raza’s dubious study is to convince the soft-hearted American people that immigration raids should be stopped because they are traumatizing the children of illegal aliens. In simpler terms, the American people should forgo the enforcement of our laws because it might be damaging to the children of the criminals who violate them. Would they want to see the American people forgo the enforcement of immigration laws alone, or would this apply to all law enforcement? Are they suggesting that we not arrest and imprison robbers, murderers, thieves and rapists who also have children that might be traumatized, or is it just the children of illegal aliens who are traumatized? Obviously, the study conducted by La Raza and the Urban Institute has a few glaring deficiencies.

The bottom line in this case is that illegal aliens are criminals, and illegal aliens who also force their children to accompany them while they violate the immigration laws of the United States are criminally abusive parents who are consciously subjecting their children to irreparable emotional and psychological damage. These illegal aliens need to be apprehended by American law enforcement personnel and they should be held accountable for not just the crimes they have committed, but they should be held to account for the serious damage they have done to their own children by acting in a criminal and irresponsible manner. While there is little doubt that the forcible separation of child and parent will, in most cases, cause some degree of pain and sorrow for the child, the fact of the matter is, that children who are separated from abusive, criminally inclined parents who possess no sense of responsibility and demonstrate a strong disdain for law and social convention, are usually much better off in the long run.

The legal residents of United States of America are the most compassionate people on Earth. We have repeatedly demonstrated our overwhelming capacity for compassion by our whole-hearted response to literally thousands upon thousands of emergency situations and pleas for assistance coming from every corner of the planet. Despite the harsh and unwarranted criticism that is often directed at us, we turn our backs on none. We are always there for those who need help and assistance. We should not allow ourselves to be duped by outside forces that would use our compassionate nature against us for their own benefit, and for the benefit of those who would bring our nation down in ruins to serve their own twisted agenda.
