Subject: SB-1069 URGENT: Enough calls could accomplish something wonderful for Tucson & Arizona


Many of the people in our movement are burned out or burned up, but we cannot make it easy for our assassins to do us in by simply complaining to each other and/or sending each other Emails every day.

PLEASE READ THE SHORT, IMPORTANT ARTICLE BELOW and take the simple actions requested, which won't take over 5 minutes of your time.

Our State School Superintendent, Tom Horne, is trying everything he can to force the Tucson Unified School District to stop its raza/ethnic studies classes, and Tucson State Senator Jonathan Paton has sponsored SB-1069 (as a strike-everything bill), which will make it very financially difficult for school districts to offer ethnic-based studies.

The Tucson School District actually fired all its elementary school librarians rather than to discontinue this racist, hate-filled, subversive program (I was at a TUSD hearing regarding this subversion myself).

A small group in Tucson, Arizonans Against Immigration Control, has been fighting the school board over these studies literally for years.

We all need to get behind Tom Horne and this bill. What you can do:

1. If you live in Tucson, call the bill's sole sponsor, Sen. Jonathan Paton (who incidentally sponsored the human smuggling bill under which Sheriff Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas have arrested and prosecuted thousands of illegals and coyotes) and (a) thank him for sponsoring this important bill, (B) ask him to please push it as hard as he can, and (c) ask his office what else you can do to get this bill passed. The really good news is that this bill has been assigned to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which Sen. Paton chairs. It looks like it has been scheduled for a hearing in that committee this coming Monday, June 15, at 1:30 (but you might want to double-check with Sen. Paton's office first).

2. If you live in Arizona, also on this committee are the following, all of whose votes are critically needed to get this bill out of committee. Please call and ask for their support too, especially if you live in Chuck Gray's district in Mesa (he has let us down many times before) or John Huppenthal's district in Chandler/Ahwatukee (who has let us down before too), but both have often voted with us so please be firm but kind:
