White House to celebrate Cinco De Mayo

    May 5, 2010 | 1:40 PM ET
White House on Los Suns and ImmigrationThe White House won't say if immigration reform is going to get done this year, but White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says President Obama will talk about immigration Wednesday night when the White House celebrates Cinco de Mayo.

While Gibbs acknowledges there's a lot on Obama's plate right now, he wouldn't say if the administration would punt immigration reform to a later date, perhaps even a second term if they were to even get back into office. Gibbs did talk in the daily press briefing about the need for bi-partisan immigration reform saying "This is not going to pass with a one party vote." Gibbs said Obama was asked to reach out to republicans, and he has, and the White House believes that has moved the process along.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns who are currently playing in the NBA playoffs plan to don jerseys Wednesday night that will show their support for Hispanics in the state of Arizona. Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver said the team will wear "Los Suns" jerseys “to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the state of Arizona, and our nation.â€

"Make no mistake -- our immigration system is broken" and people were right to be frustrated, including those in border states such as Arizona, Obama said.

However, "we can't start singling out people depending on who they look like or how they talk or how they dress," he said, adding he has asked for a review of the Arizona law.

And what persons would do such singling out of the people? What a worthless bag of wind. I don't guess we'll have any worry of a police state with this clown's opinion of our officers?

C'mon Cinco de mayo isn't even celebrated in mexico. Here it's just another excuse to drink and fatten the pockets of beer distributors.

Shhhhh.... No one is supposed to know that. Bar owners are pretty happy too.

Mother's day is in 4 days so next up is Hallmark, but they seem to get help every month it seems. I won't be giving my money to them though. A restaurant on the other hand...

These worthless sacks of crap will celebrate Sink Hole De Mayo and Ramadan, but not any christian holidays like Christmas. Just more PC that is killing our country. In fact it's so bad I don't even recognize this country anymore, at least not the one I grew up in.

National Day of Prayer = bad
    Cinco de Mayo = good

Of course, this was another opportunity to push amnesty.

Ok, let me get this straight, the White House is celebrating the defeat and removal of a French Hapsberg prince, who was asked to rule Mexico by rich aristocratic Mexicans because they believed this prince could stop the constant civil war happening in Mexico, even though he did not speak English, but then the prince was overthrown by the same revolutionaries who raped and pillaged before the prince left France:

And the White House is celebrating this?

Do they even know Cinco de Mayo was hardly a celebration of indepence, but of a failed cease fire, and a continuation of political instability, which continues to plague Mexico today, in the shapeshifter's form known as the cartels.

    Pathetic & sad.
