Don't throw rocks at me it is a model for an idea

    Hi,

I am NOT posting this to further the work of Representative Alan Grayson nor support him. I think though that what he is doing (how he is doing it) might be interesting and helpful to advance Alipac's interests. Before you throw rocks at me listen up please. What if we were to use this scenario for advancing our causes and raising money for politicians who are patriots.

Imagine a pro-American patriotic Senator and a Representative, similtaneously submitting the same bill before the House and Senate. This bill would basically be the agenda of alipac and its allies. The bill would have its own website to gain co-signers as well as contributers. Contributions would go to any federal and state candidates who meet certain criteria of advancing the end of illegal immigration and who are against amnesty, guest worker permits and any path to citizenship for illegal aliens. I think it would be a great way to further our cause, bring pressure on congress and president, raise money for our candidates, and get press and the message out!

What do you all think of the idea -- here is the email Greyson sent to a friend -- again I do not support him nor advocate him -- just look at it as a model for alipac to copy in our struggle:

"Next week, there is going to be a "debate" in Congress on yet another war funding bill. The bill is supposed to pass without debate, so no one will notice.

What George Orwell wrote about in "1984" has come true. What Eisenhower warned us about concerning the "military-industrial complex" has come true. War is a permanent feature of our societal landscape, so much so that no one notices it anymore.

But we're going to change this. Today, we're introducing a bill called 'The War Is Making You Poor Act'. The purpose of this bill is to connect the dots, and to show people in a real and concrete way the cost of these endless wars. We're working to get co-sponsors in Congress, but, we need citizen co-sponsors as well. Become a citizen cosponsor today at TheWarIsMakingYouPoor.com. Act Now.

Next year's budget allocates $159,000,000,000 to perpetuate the occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq. That's enough money to eliminate federal income taxes for the first $35,000 of every American's income. Beyond that, leaves over $15 billion to cut the deficit.

And that's what this bill does. It eliminates separate funding for the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, and eliminates federal income taxes for everyone's first $35,000 of income ($70,000 for couples). Plus it pays down the national debt. Does that sound good to you? Then please sign our petition in support of this bill, and help us build a movement to end our permanent state of war.

The costs of the war have been rendered invisible. There's no draft. Instead, we take the most vulnerable elements of our population, and give them a choice between unemployment and missile fodder. Government deficits conceal the need to pay in cash for the war.
We put the cost of both guns and butter on our Chinese credit card. In fact, we don't even put these wars on budget; they are still passed using 'emergency supplemental'. A nine-year 'emergency'.

Let's show Congress the cost of these wars is too much for us.

    http://www.TheWarIsMakingYouPoor.com

Tell Congress that you like 'The War Is Making You Poor Act'. No, tell Congress you love it.

All we are saying is "give peace a chance." We will end these wars.

    Together.
    Courage,

    Alan Grayson

    Petition on the website:

I support the 'War is Making You Poor' Act. This bill would eliminate the separate funding for the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and eliminate federal income taxes for everyone's first $35,000 of income (or $70,000 for couples) each year. And it would help pay down our national debt.

I support it. No, actually, I love it. And I call on Congress to pass it.

    MarkB,

    Check out www.NumbersUSA.com.

ALIPAC works closely with NumbersUSA and Numbers has a grading system for every Congressional member on immigration issues.

ALIPAC & NumbersUSA are the best sites imo for fighting Illegal Immigration.

LOL -- USPatriot I am NOT supporting Alan Greyson... honestly -- I just find the method he is using to introduce legislation that would force a debate on something he supports along with a special website for co-signers and contributers for THAT ONE piece of legislation interesting and maybe useful. Why have no Senators or Representatives introduced a Bill that would simply say Deport all illegals, defend the border, fine employers... But I agree with you that numbersusa.com is a great site! In fact, numbersusa.com could be the website used with a simple petition for that piece of legislation. But thanks it was just an idea

Actually Numbers has a 5 for 5 club which is 5 great immigration legislation Bills Numbers members are trying to get their congress critters to sign.

Congress members are responding and some only sign to sponsor one or two of the Bills but some have signed all five. Interestingly Birthright Citizenship is the favorite most have signed onto.

BTW I agree when new engines for our latest jet fighters are being requested just to fatten the pockets of Boeing & G.E. it needs to be stopped.
