Thread: Would Posse Comatatus apply?

I'm kind of confused
Why do we have such a large standing army if they cannot be used to protect the country?

My understanding was the posse comatatus (sp) act only applied to police actions against American citizens , How does it stack up being used
to protect the country from foreign nationals ?

If the army cannot be used to protect the country , then why do we need them?

On October 1, 2008, the US Army announced that the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT) will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command (NORTHCOM), as an on-call federal response force for natural or man-made emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

Unfortunately, many people think they will be used on citizens that have been labled domestic terrorists by the DHS using reports from the SPLC. Remember the Missouri memo.
