Our State mag "unknowingly" supports illegal immig

I was visiting relatives over Thanksgiving and read an article in Our State magazine titled "Barbecue Crossroads." Now you'd think it would be about North Carolina pork barbecue (vinegar or ketchup) or something. But, no, it was about Mexican, Honduras, El Salvador, etc. cuisine. It seems the Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte has put together a barbecue tour of its own. The guy from the museum, who was quoted in the story, said that "newcomers" have come here to work hard, start a new life and become Americans and that they are providing a "cultural revolution" in our state. The article talked about patrons speaking only Spanish, etc. yet it was presented in a positive, isn't this wonderful kind of way. I do not have a copy of the article in front of me. If someone has that magazine, please take a look and post some of the quotes from it.
It just rubbed me the wrong way. I'd be curious if others felt the same way. If you subscribe to that magazine and it rubbed you the wrong way too, consider writing a letter to the editor. Thanks.

    the comments from museum rep

I think what upset me as much as the fact that Our State chose to highlight places predicated on illegal immigration was the comments by the museum representative, basically praising illegal aliens and saying that there is a cultural revolution as a result.
