Response from National Immigration Law Center
Although I respect your right to voice your opinion I would also like to clarify the provisions of the DREAM Act as many myths and misconceptions have been spread by the groups that oppose it. The DREAM Act is a path to legalization for students who were brought here by their parents when they were children, as you may remember when you were 5, 6 years old you didn’t have much of a say if your parents decided to move somewhere. Most importantly, the DREAM Act does not provide any money or other type of public benefits to these undocumented students that belonged to other U.S. citizens. That is in fact the biggest misconception; the DREAM Act does not take any money away from any U.S. citizen, it merely provides a way for these young people to become active contributors to our society.
Again, you are entitled to whatever opinion you choose to have but you also have the right to have all the correct information.

If my Dad was a bank robber and on the run and dragged me around with him..........I wonder what benefits the government would give me? Heck it wouldn't be my fault he robbed banks.

Really!!! The only benefit you, and the rest of your family would get, would be an investigation opened into the other parent's role in the crime, a visit from Child Protective Services, and the financial hardship millions suffer each day because of the poor decision by your parent to commit a punishable offense.
