Illegal: How I Got Smuggled In & The Girl Who Got Raped
AUDIO: http://www.phxnews.com/fullstory.php?article=48435
Todd Hartley brings you a very appealing conversation, an illegal alien’s story about how he made it into America.
When Carlos was 19-years-old he left behind his family in Peru to travel north, illegally entering the United States.
Todd Hartley talks with Carlos about his 42 day journey, why his life was threatened, the young woman he had to leave behind to get rapped by thugs, how his brother in America scouted his path and the way he got smuggled across the US/Mexico border.

No thank you. I have a hard enough time keeping my anger in check when I see SOB stories in print, I certainly don't want to listen to one.

How many names, addresses and fake documents did he show you, Todd?
BTW, it doesn't "appeal" to me either.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Hartley's Reply: Interviewing An Illegal
Did you think I was under the illusion I'd get a round of applause for interviewing someone who snuck into the country?
Of course not. And I'm okay with that. I'm not here to please people. I'm hear to cover immigration and what kind of an immigration journalist would I be if I never interviewed someone I opposed?
Think about it.
When I interview Hispanic right's groups and argue with them, people get mad at me for even giving them the publicity.
But there's a HUGE value in listening to their stories.
Know your competition, study their arguments, learn, master, grow and you'll know how to beat them the next time you're debating.
Fear Not!

Todd,
OK, I listened, JUST in case there was anything of interest. What I heard was a man from Peru, who didn't even respect, nor it sounds like, THINK of our laws, broke them coming over the border, which made made him a criminal, became a citizen, with amnesty in '86, joined his brother in LA, left a woman to be raped by coyotes, which was 'hard', and so forth. I was struck that NOWHERE in the conversation was there any indication by you, Todd, nor the criminal, that anything wrong was done. Oh, he knew he was breaking laws all along his trip, didn't indicate any remorse. Even said the woman who drove him across the border, said he'd have to hide from immigration.
I'm so angry at all this sympathy for people who choose to disobey the
laws of our country and do so every single day they stay here (and at the
businesses who give our jobs away, cheaply) and at our gov't at all levels
allowing this INVASION to go on. Immigrants are those who go through the
system, fill out papers, get checked out, learn English and obey the law!
I am the victim of illegals...Cuban, Nicaraguan, Colombian, Peruvian, &
Mexican. These kids were in an international gang that robbed me off and
on for 1 1/2 years (when I was at work at night as an ER RN, helping
people!), before they threatened my life (spray-painted "We're going to
kill you, you f...... Anglo bitch", all over my walls), broke in while I
was there with a gun, then when I left for my safety, burned my house
down, putting me into $25,000 in debt. Yes, the police gang unit was
trying, but the professionalism of the gang, as well as the physical
layout of the neighborhood, always gave the gang members time to escape.
They only got the gang member, who removed his glove, while he sprayed the
accelerant all over my furniture and my thousands of books. His
thumbprint was left on the accelerant can.
Oh yes, Todd, they were very gentle souls," with good family values, just here to do jobs AMERICANS and LEGAL immigrants won't do."
What an insult to all we Americans and LEGAL immigrants who have been crime victims. We lived our lives trying to do the right thing, raise our children, pay taxes, live responsibly, etc.
I ask you, Todd, why should only AMERICANS AND LEGAL immigrants, have to obey the law. Enough.TIME'S UP!

Pat,
Perhaps Todd would be good enough to interview you.
I believe American readers/listeners would be more interested in hearing from a victim of the illegal invasion than hearing yet another tearjerker from the invaders.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Hartley's Reply To The Criticism
I am opposed to illegal immigration just like you are.
I can't always be interviewing people on our side.
It would get boring to always be preaching to the choir.
There will be a time when I lay into someone who I disagree with. That has happened several times already. Need an argument?

But Carlos is not that person. It was not the right time or place. Trust me. I'm trying to display a little class.
Sorry if I let you down in my attemp to share his story.

I have a friend from Peru (legal immigrant) he told me that back home if you dont have i.d. on you and you get stopped by police that you go straight to jail no excuses.
I told him we should try that here and he agreed.

05-11-2007, 10:27 PM #10Clearly it's pathetic for Garcia to throw out the race card when someone doesn?t agree with her and in the same breath claim America needs an honest dialogue on an issue.
But that's how Isabel Garcia spins the illegal immigration issue.
America's open border problem is about national security, and not just the defense of a great nation at war, but also the financial security of a generous nation that will provide womb to tomb coverage to those who can't afford it.
Todd, many of us don't know you. I agree with you...know your enemy...
Try to understand that we are just so absolutely tired and frustrated at the MSM's clear bias and lies by omission on this issue. Since I didn't know you, what I heard was an extremely sympathetic interview with a criminal who became a citizen.
If I might make a suggestion: next time, give a bit of an explanation, so we know some background on the interview.
Thanks for the explanations.TIME'S UP!
