    Findng a rare piece of common ground when it comes to spending limits, Republicans and Democrats in the Senate voted overwhelmingly Friday morning to cut off federal farm payment handouts to farmers who already make more than $1 million a year.

    The 84-15 vote was stunning not just for the size of support, but also for the coalition it assembled — liberal Democrats eager to target millionaires, and conservative Republicans who want to see federal spending trimmed.

    I wonder if that will hurt the Farmers in any way, who own huge parcels of Farmland, that they use to supply us with food? Some of those huge Farms cost alot of money to run. I remember watching movies in the 80's about Farmer problems. Sally Field, and James Garner were in one, and Sissy Spacek/Mel Gibson were in another. John Mellencamp, and Willie Nelson toured for Farm Aid, donating a certain amount of profit to Farmers, and I think they stilll do. I sure hope Congress did it's research regarding this, or we may end up with more problems than it's worth.
