    I went to my local credit union.....

    ......to inquire about switching over my accounts from BofA. My local CU is on the good list. YEA! My last question to the guy was: Does the CU offer loans and credit cards to........and that was as far as I got, as he interrupted me and said.....illegal aliens? I was shocked and said, How did you know what I was going to ask that? He stated, because I was the 6th person to pose that question to him that day. How great is that? I am stoked that others in this border town have joined the bandwagon. Soon I will be making the transition, but gotta deal with the direct deposits and whatnot.

    BUT.....I have a nagging concern. How do we know that these financial instutions that say no today, won't be saying yes tomorrow? I guess it is just a chance we have to take huh?

    Great news your credit union knew why you were coming there.

    Hopefully banks we're switching to will have enough sense to know we'll move our monies again if they start catering to illegal aliens.

    When you sign up for the new bank, tell them why you are switching. I'm sure they have already gotten the message that people are moving towards them because of this issue and they are welcoming you with open arms. They know you will leave them, just like you left the other guy.

    I can tell you when I called Bank of America and canceled my visa (That I Had for 15 years) she knew exactly why I was canceling my card but she could not tell me how many calls she has had for the same reason. I got the impression it was quite a few. I specifically told her I wanted noted on the account as to why I canceled the card. ( I know I took a credit hit for it but it was worth it)

    I`ve pulled my accounts, but I`ll be leaving California shortly so I`ll just wait and find a clean financial institute in Oklahoma to set up a new business account and money management account.

    Thx for all the welcomes and for everyone that supports this site and the cause.

    I too hope that BofA takes a huge hit from this. I also hope that people cancel their accounts in droves. SCREW you BofA. (can I say that here?)
