Watch: MSNBC Host’s Jaw Drops When Martin Luther King III Says Blacks And Tea Party Can Coexist

May 9, 2014 by Personal Liberty News Desk

During an interview with Martin Luther King III, son of legendary civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., MSNBC host Touré was left speechless by the answer to a question about whether the Democratic Party takes black Americans for granted.

“Do you think today, the modern Democratic Party does enough to earn the overwhelming support it receives from black people?” Touré asked King. “Is it taking black people for granted in a way?”
King told the MSNBC pundit that the answer is “yes,” before explaining that it’s up to black Americans to hold all political parties accountable.

“We’re not a monolithic people. So, while I happen to be a Democrat, I think it’s important for African Americans to be Republicans, I think it’s important for African Americans to be independent … I also think it’s important to be engaged with the Tea Party,” King said.
Touré incredulously replied, “Why would it be important for us to be engaged with the Tea Party?”
“Because the only way you change is that you have to be at least communicating,” King said. “If there’s no communication, then you can’t just let someone have an agenda.”
King was also not willing to take the MSNBC bait and lend credence to the Democratic talking point that conservative opposition to President Obama’s policies is entirely racially motivated.

Black Americans' alliance with Tea Party makes sense

Let's face it, 'Bamacrats and sellout Repubs are throwing the poorest Americans under the bus, while working to get amnesty for illegals. Their motivations differ. Demos want to lock up federal elective offices; Repubs want to give their big-money donors the docile, unorganized labor force that the donors want. The only real opposition to amnesty comes from Tea Party chapters.
