    Self-Deporting from Oregon

Seems we have started to hear the shuffling of feet up here. Our little community has begun to disband.

Sadly, many are beginning an exodus to their homes down south.

We have been hearing firsthand little by little from the kids of the illegal parents around here that they are making the decision to go back to Mexico.

One boy told our daughter today (this is the only nice kid around here who does not like to hang around with his own kind and siblings who have "pride") that they were getting ready to move back to Mexico, his father wants to go back, thinks it will be better for them there.

This poor kid, a product of his parents poor choices, born here, raised here for 11 years, and he has said he does not want to go there, he told our son it is a crummy place and dirty.

So, OBL people, cutting them off of free medical, government benefits and putting the pressure on employers will not make them self-deport, eh?

We have been hearing about this here for a while. It might be trickle right now, but it has been a steady stream and it will continue as we here at ALIPAC and others keep up the pressure, it is working!!!!!!

I've seen a few houses go up for sale in the last few months. I need to drive around a little more and see if it's an widespread.

Great News!! I've always thought that most would go home if they knew the people and government were going to enforce US Immigration Law.

All the Wackident has to do is make an announcement and many will leave voluntarily. It's like people going in an open door not knowing whether they can get by and stick around but when asked to leave because they aren't supposed to be here, like most people, most illegal aliens will leave and return home. Sure, some will have to be carried back and locked out at the border so as not to return. But most will leave when the jobs and benefits are cut off.

    GO ALIPAC!!

    It is working....slowly but surely.

Hey, how ya doing? I would tend to confirm your observation - at least near to where I live - that things have improved modestly.
Could it be self-deportation is not as much as a pipe dream that some people claim (?)

    I wonder about areas like:

    Woodburn
    Hillsboro/ForestGrove/Cornelius
    McMinnville/Newberg
    Gresham/Troutdale,
    Salem
    NE - Umatilla/Pendleton
    S - Medford and surrounding
    etc.

Any word? I've heard bits and pieces, but sure want some 2nd opinions if possible.

I would be very curious to pin down the reason for the decision. Is it:
a). Change in state services and citizenship requirement(s)
b). General perception that La Migra is real and people are actually being deported - even far from the border?
c). Greater ID checking via/through hiring process?
    d). (other)?

PhredE, it is all those I think. My husband works in a warehouse, and many there are from Vietnam, and some from Mexico. To my knowledge ALL are legal, the employer is a stickler about that. Anyways, they were all talking about the new requirements for health care through the state, so the word is out there.

As for Gresham, Phred, that is where we live and that is what we are seeing. Even in public places, truthfully and no exaggeration, I have seen less and less of whom I believe must be illegals lately. And....when I do see them in the stores, it is really late in the evenings.

Out here we have noticed some changes, and have seen many with vans loaded with kids, and things, heading out, to where we do not know though, one can only guess (and hope).

I really believe that they realized that their handlers screwed up things for them, look at the numbers of the most recent marches. Think those illegals want to put themselves out there again after all the news about ICE raids, local governments making laws, police and sheriffs cracking down, and states finally enforcing documentation to get help? They know they have blown it.

Here you have all those once bold illegals who demanded amnesty, went on TV (30 Days) an proclaimed their illegal status, all of the sudden are absent from their marches, and leaving communities in a steady trickle.

Up here I think a lot of thanks goes to Oregonians for Immigration Reform and the new Minutemen chapter who have been picketing the day labor site(s) and as well making sure the public knows that state employees have been paid to cater to these people. Their efforts in Oregon have been invaluable.

Trickle, trickle, and eventually it will turn into a steady stream, then a river. See, and all it took was individual citizens, not big government.

Yeah, I'm in the metro area also (about 12 mi. away)
I'm glad things are improving out your family's way.

Yes, I'd say there has been a big difference too. The last march was barely a sputter compared to the ones in late spring. The latest revised estimate I've seen put the number at about 500 - 1000 max.

Up here I think a lot of thanks goes to Oregonians for Immigration Reform and the new Minutemen chapter who have been picketing the day labor site(s) and as well making sure the public knows that state employees have been paid to cater to these people. Yep, OFIR has really pushed hard to put the issue 'out there' and then follow through in a variety of ways. The addition of MM lately into the mix
will be noticed - that is for sure! I guess with no border to camp out at, then, the next best thing to do is check known day labor sites, etc.

Keep up the fight - there are 'things happening out there!'

American Liz, I have not seen that in the southern part of Oregon yet myself but I am Praying for it.

I've always said he could save the country a lot of money and work if he'd just come out and say: "If you are in this country illegally you need to leave. U.S. immigration laws are going to be enforced."
Come on.....how hard is it for him to say what he should be saying ??
What in the world would be wrong for a president to say that ? In fact, wouldn't that be the right thing for him to be saying ?

If he would say it, there would be more illegal aliens self-deporting. It would save us a lot of taxpayer money, time and effort if he would just say what he is suppose to say and what the American people expect him to say.

To me, this has always been is the most aggravating part of this whole thing.

Does our government EVER do anything that is just that simple?

I think it has helped to have citizens out there saying it though as well as the Minutemen groups being formed.

Yes, we need politicians voted in that will say it though.
