ICE IMAGE Program

I am new to this forum, so, if I am covering already tread ground, I hope you'll forgive me.

I have worked the border from Jacumba to Mexicali in years past to spot and report illegals as they crossed into our country. I have been with the San Diego Minutemen since 2007.

I am also the president of a business in North San Diego County. My company was the first to be certified as an ICE IMAGE member. A second business just a few blocks away became certified just a short while later.

The City of Escondido then became the first San Diego County city to use E-Verify to check the authorization of its new hires. Just weeks later, the City of Oceanside did the same and did one better by requiring its suppliers and contractors to use E-Verify.

These were big steps in one of the two California counties that are the closest to the Mexican border. Cities in other counties have or are moving towards doing the same thing.

In spite of the misguided head of DHS, of which ICE is a part, there are those in ICE that are genuinely on our side in the fight against illegal immigrants finding jobs.

Wherever you are, if you are en employer and if you haven't done so already, register your company with E-Verify. I recommend going even one step farther: help protect your country by becoming an ICE IMAGE member.
