    Remember This?

Remember when I posted this? Below is my response that I sent into that same paper today.

    Letter to the editor

Who will do the hard work?
The immigration bill seems to be getting a lot of opposition. Two letters to the editor in the Spokesman June 21 are an example. William Salmon is railing against both the Democrats and Republicans who are supporting the bill. Robert Sprint is concerned that our borders are not keeping illegal immigrants out.
So, what to recommend? Are they, their offspring, their siblings, their friends ready to pick the strawberries, prune the orchards, do stoop manual labor to replace these intruders? Since most illegal immigrants are here to do the work Americans deign not to do, why can't we work out a way to help them get here legally? But, oh no, perish the thought that we should accept the poor, the uneducated, the willing to work for minimum wage, doing backbreaking jobs.
Misters Salmon and Sprint, do you have a solution?

    Joan Harris

I’d like to respond to Joan Harris’ letter dated June 24, 2007. Apparently she has not done her homework on this issue of illegal immigration, so I’ll see if I can help.
To begin with, we already have an agricultural bill that permits foreign nationals to come into this country to work. The problem is, they don’t stay at those jobs. They move on to take the jobs Americans will do and work for less, thus lower the wages for our own citizens. And unfortunately, many of these low-skilled, uneducated workers she feels sorry for have raped and murdered our citizens. Between the traffic accidents and the violent crimes committed by these people, we lose an average of 25 American citizens every single day. There are approximately 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders currently living in this country, and there are 93 sex offenders and 12 serial sex offenders coming across our borders illegally every day. If I had more room for this letter, I would explain about the bankrupt hospitals and overcrowded schools her taxes help pay for, but I think if she does a little research, she’ll find all that out for herself.
RIP TinybobIdaho -- May God smile upon you in his domain forevermore.

Just enforce our existing laws, that's what our cause is all about.

I'm starting to think Bush is a drug dealer because he does not want to secure the border

I don't think he has enough sense to be a dealer. Maybe a user that thinks his sources will dry up.
Government is not reason;it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master! George Washington
