    The nerve of some people!

You gotta give 'em credit -- those Mexicans do have a lot of nerve.

Translation of an article written by a columnist in a Monterrey, Mexico newspaper (From an Internet blog):

    12 of July of 2007
    Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

    Mexico laments its losses

Newspaper editorials and social activists in Mexico are bemoaning the nation's loss of able-bodied young men to the United States. Activists are complaining and voicing displeasure over the fact that millions of Mexican husbands and fathers have been enticed and compelled to migrate to the U.S. seeking to pave a way to a better life for their families and loved ones left behind in Mexico.

As the out-of-control exodus continues, some editorials are suggesting the U.S. Government offer restitution to the Mexican people for robbing Mexico of its talented young men whom are being exploited by a callous society in the U.S. Some say the migration of their men to the U.S. has created a vacuum which has sucked out and stolen the very soul, essence and talent of their country.

The lack of man power at home affects all walks of life: small family based businesses; millions of peasants; thousands of students; artists; school teachers; and skilled technicians who have fallen victim to the lure for higher salaries in the promised land. Crops in thousands of small farms all across the Mexican countryside go unattended due to the ever increasing drain on Mexico's manpower.

Moreover, the crisis has placed a severe psychological strain on the women of Mexico who must now struggle to raise their children and survive without their men folk. Many of these women are suffering from emotional distress due to the prolonged absence of traditional men of the house and breadwinners.

Political activists claim the U.S. should voluntarily provide financial aid to Mexico to help compensate for its losses of skilled and valuable young men to higher paying jobs in America. Some are suggesting that in addition to financial aid, the U.S. should consider dispatching National Guard troops and legions of Peace Corps volunteers to help make up for the loss of manpower in Mexico's cities, villages and haciendas.

A columnist in a Monterrey, Mexico newspaper recommends the Mexican Government sue the U.S. at the International Court of the Hague for restitution due to damages resulting from the drain of Mexico's valuable human resources.

Sounds like veiled America-hate to me. It's funny, that every time any person in Mexico has financial distress, it is always the US' fault.
I'd like to go on record recommending that the time wasted in blaming the US for every one of Mexico's problems, instead, be dedicated toward the creation of a tax system whereby the 40 to 50 ultra-wealthy Mexican families that functionally run the entire country (including Carlos 'Slim', the richest man in the world), begin to pay their [required] taxes. That would do a lot to alleviate the suffering and displacement of Mexico's poorest people.

I agree, it is the only humane thing to do. Tell the Monterey Mexican paper we feel their pain and will do our utmost to send these men back to Mexico.

Political activists claim the U.S. should voluntarily provide financial aid to Mexico...
What are they talking about? We have been giving Mexico FREE financial aid for years!

This article echoes the same distorted reasoning offered by one of their lawbreaking citizens recently: "The US was the first to break the law by allowing me to enter the country illegally." (Hint: a woman with the initials E.A., recently deported)

Same reasoning offered by a Mexican yesterday in the Day Laborer March in the city of Orange, Orange County yesterday: "The City forced us to break the law." Say what?

And it goes to the very top of their govt too! I regurgitated my dinner last nite as I listened to El Presidente Fox on O'Reilly. Talk about spin! He was spinning faster than my washing machine on heavy-duty cycle!

What is wrong with Mexico?? I am really beginning to think that the national IQ of that country is going down the drain. I used to not think that, but the more they spout these illogics PUBLICLY, the more I am rethinking it. And since 85% of illegals here are from Mexico, no wonder there is a dumbing down of America!

After all the time, human lives, and money America spent to become a First-World Country, Mexico's #1 export (their citizens) is dragging us down to a Third-World status. How sad is that.

So all that free foreign aid we have been sending them apparently didn't even make a dent to improve their lives. Not to mention we haven't received even one Thank-You note for that. What ingrates.

    Here is another stumper:

Canada and Mexico both border the USA. How come Canada is a First-World country and Mexico is a Third-World country? Have you ever thought about that? Both have had equal access to the USA, yet one flourishes while the other flunks. Why is that? What made the difference? Someone please explain that to me!
