So what are Americans supposed to do for jobs to feed their families? Learn how to build bridges and railroads, only to find themselves losing out to illegals working for less pay? This has got to stop and our visa allowance has to face the reality of talented Americans sitting unemployed. There is a huge gap here only due to corporate greed and heavy lobbying.

Many people naively believe that before a company can ask for an H-1B, they have to prove they couldn't find a qualified American worker who wanted the job. That actually is not true in almost all cases, and even where it is, there are ways around it that no one is monitoring.

What a great post! I sent this to all of my ultra-liberal IT friends that just got laid off. This ought to change their mind!

This administration plans to import 3 to 4 million more H and L visas within the next 4 years. So much for their b.s. propaganda of putting Americans back to work......

Are those numbers the total number of visas in consecutive order. I can't figure it out.

But still CIR is one of Obama's top priorities. With democratic majority improved they could increase numbers of H1b, Green card and also make millions of illegals to legals. It is going to be tough time for US citizens for next 5 years or more. Many high skilled US citizens might have lost high skilled jobs for past 9 years to H1b , L1 and outsourcing. When they try to move low skilled jobs illegal immigrants may take jobs. And also recession hits them.

Welcome, Sen! From what I have read, GWB signed the executive order in his waning days in office that companies no longer need to advertise American jobs to citizens. And if that were not bad enough, they are probably advertising jobs in this country in other languages so we have no idea of what is really going on.

I would go so far to say that the real source of the economic crisis we are going through was purely caused when illegal aliens and temporary foreign workers and new legal immigrants sponsored to throw Americans out of work hit this country within the last ten years. Without these illegals and unneeded foreign workers we would be in good shape right now, but saying that would cause the "aha" moment that our politicians and global establishment don't want average working class citizens to have.

If you point out the obvious they call you "xenophobic" which is really a garbage phrase.
