In memory of an American hero

On Oct. 20th 2009 America lost another great man and patriot.
Mike Mikesell was 87 yeras of age when he passed on. He was a decorated WWII Naval veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor stationed in the Pacific aboard the USS Honolulu. After the war he retired. Then when the Korean war began Mike reenlisted in the Air Force and served to the end of the conflict.
Mike continied his life fighting for Americans and our rights by being pro active in politics and elections.
He was also a man who believed in freedom and the American way and never failed to have our flag flying outside his home.
It was my pleasure and honor to have known him.
He now rejoins with his wife Mary who preceded him in death by ten years.

Many say the WWII generation was our best generation...and from what I've read I tend to believe they were.
He lived a long life, bless his soul.

I think ww11 were the best of the best of Americans .

But they raised some really wild kids . The hippys ,sexual revolution and most never had to work a hard day in their life .

This is what their kids left us with on the most part . But there were also lots of good people that came out of it too . Some good music too . And Boones Farm Strawberry Hill .
