    Toaster Lament

Off-topic but, in a way, related to the problems of the ongoing invasion.

Millions of workers invading. Too bad so many are criminals (other than the crime of invading illegally).

Combine the excess labor supply with the continual moving of jobs OUT of the USA and our working folks are facing terrible conditions.

I have made it a point to, whenever possible, NOT buy products made overseas. I actively seek the "Made in the USA" label. Even though I earn less than $20,000 yearly I still try to buy American.... even when the cost is higher.

A couple years ago my toaster died. Sniff. It was one of those el cheapo made in some 3rd-world country piece of junk imported by an American firm who put their name on it. Likely the executives of that firm are making oodles of money while the laboring class scrapes by..... waving bye bye as the next factory shuts down and those jobs disappear forever.

Anyway..... the months stroll by. When I peruse the offerings in various stores I lift the toaster and what do I see? Mede in China. Made in Pakistan. Made in Outter Slobovia or whatever foreign country has super-cheap labor. Not a single toaster proudly proclaiming "Made in USA."

I have minimized my need for toast. Once in a great while when my heart and bulbous belly screams out for a salami and cheese sandwhich on toast I use the oven to make the toast.

Will I ever own another toaster? I will not until I see the "Made in USA" label.

If only 50-million other Americans would do the same perhaps we could keep a few jobs in the USA.

I second that....I keep looking for the made in America label...don't find it often...I feel a tad of guilt that I wasn't more observant years ago...perhaps I could have helped prevent just my part of this mess.
