    NUMBERSUSA-TAKE ACTION

    NumbersUSA Urgent Action

    Chris Chmielenski
Counter the Pro-Amnesty March with Calls to Congress!

    Friends,

Today, tens of thousands of pro-amnesty activists will be walking the halls of Congress before converging on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol for a rally this afternoon.

IF YOU MAKE ONE CALL TODAY, PLEASE CALL YOUR 2 U.S. SENATORS AND URGE THEM TO OPPOSE AMNESTY!

We've se t up a special toll-free number for you to use today --
    (88 978-3076

Here is the talking point for today's calls:

"Whatever you do on immigration, don't give out work permits to millions of illegal aliens to do construction and service jobs while there are millions of unemployed Amer icans who are standing in line for just those kinds of jobs."

We've also posted a phone note on your Action Board:

Our hope is that when the pro-amnesty activists visit a Senator's office they have to wait because the staff is busy fielding your phone calls with your anti-amnest y message!

LEGISLATION IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS?

On Sunday, Gang of Eight Members, Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham, appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" to discuss their efforts. Schumer said a bill would be introduced some time this week, while Graham said it may be a few more weeks.

Yesterday, we learned that one of the bill's sticking points - a new guest-worker program for agriculture - had been worked out. Moments later, Sen. John McCain said he expected the Gang to introduce the bill TOMORROW. Some sources close to the negotiations, however, said it's more likely that the introduction will come next week.

We also learned yesterday that Sen. Marco Rubio would not sign off on the final legislation until he reads the full 1,500-page bill. One of his aides hinted that that could take weeks, but obviously that's not going to happen if a bill is introduced by early next week.

St ay tuned to our front page as we continue to keep you up to date on all the latest news.

    ARE YOU ON TWITTER?

If you use Twitter, there's more you can do today. Please follow our Twitter feed (@NumbersUSA) and retweet our Tweets from today's rallies. We'll be using the hashtag #StopAmnesty.
