    Duncan Hunter

There must be a way to ignore the secret trade tribunal that supports all of these agreements like NAFTA and CAFTA, which are really treaties, but they circumvent Congress by being called 'agreements'. We have got to get a handle on this. I was jus wondering what would Duncan Hunter do? I went to his website and there was nothing posted yet about his bid for the Presidency (at the official governemnt site). Wonder where he stands on the issues? Then I found this link:

    http://www.hunterforcongress.com/pages/issues.html

In the middle of the page, you will find links about the issues he faces. When you click on the "Protecting the Border", the page is empty. There's nothing on it, unlike every other page you can get to with these links. Mabey the site is being updated for his Presidential bid (??Maybe). We'll have to keep and eye on this man (hope I'm not being fooled here). I also found another site that bashed him from the left (it called him a racist--probably becuase he's against ILLEGAL-immigrantion--what did I expect?). I guess that makes me a racist too! Here's this link, if you want it.

Rockfish, I don't recalling seeing his name on their member list.
You were commenting on the secret trade agreements. Have you seen the web site www.stopspp.com ? It is where Corsi has posted all of his SPP freedom of information docs, and it looks like they might be gearing up to take on the SPP.

It will be very interesting to see what develops with Duncan Hunter from here. I wonder if having someone like him run, who is strong on immigration, will reduce the chance that Tancredo would run.

    re: CFR
there are also the "guest" spots, honorary crap as well as the membership which is difficult to find en toto if I remember correctly.
FYI: there are several other 'groups/think tanks" that we'll have to check to see if he's connected as well.......they move some of their people into these groups that then move POLICY into the government.

Unable to find him yet connected to the CFR in any way. He is highly respected here, has been our rep for I forget how long, years. Naturally our local media is saying he's a long shot but don't trust them anyway. May get interesting. It is good to be skeptical of course. We've been fooled one too many times voting for someone we don't really know.

Here is the letter he sent me if that is what you mean.

    Sept 27, 2006
    Dear ...

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding the North American Union (NAU) and with your kind words of encouragement. It's good to hear from you.

As you know, the NAU is a proposed international government emcompassing the nations of Canada, the U. S., and Mexico similar to the European Union. The proposal, which was defined in a May 2005 Council on Foreign Relations task force report, is an expansion of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP). SPP was launched in March 2005 as a trilateral effort to increase security through greater information sharing among the three countries.

Like you, I believe we must be vigilant to protect our sovereignty and ensure that we are always free to act in our own best interest. For this reason, I have consistently voted against free trade agreements like NAFTA, and have opposed international quasi-governmental bodies like the World Trade Organization. Rest assured that I will closely monitor these initiatives to ensure that America's sovereignty is not disrupted in deference to our international commitments.

Again, thank you for contacting me. Should you have further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to conact me.

Sincerely, Duncan Hunter, Member of Congress

Thank you Jean and Kate..its good to know these things before stepping up to bat. After the elections we should try and expose these groups for the influence that they have over the enforcement of (at least) our immigration laws. Again, thanks,

Jean, your letter from Hunter on the NAU is far better than what I got back from my Senator Burr. And, I still haven't heard a word from Elizabeth Dole or my Rep David Price.

Based on Hunter's words "the NAU is a proposed international government", it sure sounds like he isn't shy about calling it what it really is.

Little did I know that when I got that letter recently he apparently had already been entertaining the idea of running for president. I get the impression Duncan Hunter is his own man. I'm excited about this. People here like and respect him a lot. He has common sense which DC is sorely lacking nowadays. Everyone is concentrating on the Nov elections now but after that who knows what will happen. Could get very interesting.
Wonder what Tom Tancredo thinks about it?
