We've Almost Won!
Tell Congress to Ignore Bush Veto Threat and De-Fund NAFTA Trucks Pilot!
Mexico-based trucking companies are gaining access to the U.S. with insufficient protections in place. Now, Congress is acting, but the Bush administration is threatening to veto any legislation that would hinder this pilot project.

We are so close... the House and Senate came out of their negotiations on the final Department of Transportation appropriations bill with wording that would end all funds directed to a cross-border trucking program.

This dangerous program cannot be allowed continued access to our nation's highways without proper safeguards. Tell Congress to protect
our safety and pass this bill!

Unless the pilot project is stopped, the public will be at risk. The administration is ignoring the law, which requires it to put the public's safety first - not business or NAFTA obligations - when deciding what to do about Mexico-based trucks. In fact, full access has not been granted to the Mexican license record database. Border facilities have this access, but more than 15% of the time the records are missing entirely.

It is crucial that you act right away - this bill could be put to a vote as early as this week. Take action today to put the brakes on the NAFTA trucks pilot!
