President Bush: He is the 'Deceptor'
Hello team,
I just returned from the News 14 studios. I will post you a link to the coverage if it comes up online.
I watched the speech in their studio next to an Open Borders advocate they had in for a different view.
Right after the speech I was shuttled into another part of the studio.
They asked me what I thought of the speech. I said we do not need new laws. We need George Bush to do his job. I did not hear him tell the illegals in America to leave. He did not tell them to stop coming.
I said that Bush's speech was very skillful yet very deceptive. (I thought about saying he is the 'Deceptor").
Bush said illegal aliens are beyond our laws. That is a lie.
He said that anyone that wanted the deportation of every last illegal alien thought his program was an amnesty. That is a lie.
He said his program was not an amnesty. That is a lie.
There may be more. I will read the transcripts.
Another reason Bush really screwed up tonight is that you cannot please both sides of this debate. It has to either be the American public at 80% or the 10% made up mostly of the illegals and big corporations.
This issue is like the story of King Solomon's baby. The baby is America and this could tear our nation apart. Bush should let the true mother of America have the baby. That is the American public.
By trying to placate both sides of this issue. Bush will please neither.

I LOVE the comparison to the baby and King Solomon. Though I am an atheist, I have a great respect for valuable lessons that come from the bible (or any other source). The analogy is very appropriate for the situation.
Reading that particular story in the bible seems a little weird, to me, because most of us think it to be common sense. If situations like this are really common sense, why do we keep struggling in the same manner in different areas, even thousands of years later?
This immigration issue is a perfect opportunity for millions of Americans to educate themselves and start making a better future. We should not only correct our current problem, but also prepare to not face the same problem again.
