Let's figure out a way to fix this problem once and for all. Let's put our heads together and come up with a "realtistic" solution to this issue.

This post is meant for discussion.

The way I see it, the problems we are having today with illegal immigration can be traced back to Washington and the special interest groups. It appears (to me) that the overwhelming majority of Americans see this as an accute problem, yet our elected officials will not fix the system or enforce the rules.

My reasoning follows this course:

1.) We are a nation of laws.
2.) Laws are made in Congress.
3.) Congress caters to the special interests which are engrained in our government system
4.) Special interests are engrained in our government because of career politicians and a system that lacks enough checks and balances.
5.) To fix the system we must, in one fell swoop, remove all career politicians who make the laws and elect representatives that guarantee to change the system. This can be done during the 2008 election.
6.) Possibly establish a new "independent" agency that handles ALL monies for each politician.

Will this work, what do we need to do... what is the next step....

I saw nothing I object to....sounds like a good idea but no reason to wait until '08...we can start in '06...and...we need to let our current reps know that we'll be sending them home if they continue to fail us. And let them know in no uncertain terms.
