TENNESSEANS, ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE THIS?: School Takes Kids to Mosque, Gives them Copies of Koran

A Tennessee high school has decided to revise its field trip policy after a group of freshmen were taken to an Islamic mosque where they were given copies of the Koran and while a student who opted out of the trip was given a worksheet that alleged Muslims treated their conquered people better than the United States treated minorities. The students were in an honors world studies class at Hendersonville High School and the field trips to the mosque as well as a Hindu temple were part of a three-week course on world religions. But some parents objected to the trips and wondered why the school would tour a mosque but not a Christian church or a Jewish synagogue. “If you can’t go to all five, why are you going to any?” asked parent Mike Conner. “We sent the principal an email and voiced our concerns. She sent back a reply and told us they could not afford to go to all five.” Children were given punch and cookies at the mosque where they listened to readings from the Koran, Conner said. They were also given copies of the Islamic holy book – which some students took and others declined. During their visit to the Hindu temple, students engaged in meditation. “Our kids are being indoctrinated and this is being shoved in their face,” Conner told Fox News. “It tells me they are pushing other religions and they want Christianity to take a back seat. They want our children to be tolerant of everything except Christianity.” A Sumner County Schools spokesman declined to answer questions about specific religious activities the children may have engaged in, but he did send a statement acknowledging there was concern about the trip. “Our district has reviewed the practice and decided to eliminate field trips to religious venues from this class, as it does not provide equal representation to all the religions studied in the course unit,” the statement read. “This decision was made due to the fact that equal representation in regards to field trips for all religions studied in the course is not feasible.”

Tennessee congressman ridicules culture of guns, Bibles

THAT WAS THEN: U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, left, didn’t have a problem attending a prayer breakfast in Memphis in 2011.

By Chris Butler | Tennessee Watchdog
NASHVILLE — The U.S. Senate can’t pass more gun control legislation because too many people value guns and Bibles — at least according to U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, who said it’s a political, and possibly, cultural problem.

Cohen said as much on MSNBC Wednesday.

Tennessee Watchdog contacted Cohen’s office Thursday hoping to ask his spokesman Ben Garmissa, what, specifically, is wrong with a person who appreciates guns and Bibles?

Better yet, are people who value guns and Bibles really the cause of so much violence in America?
Unfortunately, Garmissa did not respond to our two messages.

On the MSNBC program, Cohen lamented that Senate Democrats, and even certain Republicans, can’t dare support gun control measures for fear that voters will retaliate.

    YouTube
He also spoke of how he angered residents in his own state after posting a highly inflammatory cartoon on Twitter blaming the National Rifle Association for this week’s Naval Yard shooting massacre in Washington, D.C.

“They are hard core Republicans, and this means more to them. I think their guns are right there next to their Bibles. I’m not sure which they find more important to them.”'

David Corn, writer for Mother Jones, then asked Cohen if this is a cultural matter that politics can’t break.
In response, Cohen once again simply blamed guns and the Bible.'

Public-School Mosque Field-Trippers Are Taught The Virtues Of Islam

Posted on September 20, 2013 by Chris Graham f

Three and a half years ago, sixth-graders from Wellesley Middle School were herded on a field trip to the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center mosque. There they were subjected to proselytism by Muslims, enlightened on the equal status of women in Islamic culture even during Mohammed's time (ha!), and urged to pray the Islamic conversion prayer to Allah. But rest assured, there is no attempt to Islamize America as there has been, and successfully, in Europe. I assume all the liberals and atheists so rabid about a "separation of church and state" already know this, however, judging by their lack of silence on the matter. Recently, students from Hendersonville High School, of Tennessee, were brought to a mosque as part of a three-week comparative-religion course. They were not brought to a church or a synagogue or whatever it is Hindus and Buddhists pray in; they were brought to a mosque. The principal of the school defended the decision by saying they couldn't afford to go to other places of worship. But if a school were interested in teaching about all religions, would they not have at least invited representatives from other religions to the school? One student's parents did not permit her to go on the field trip, so she was told by her teacher to write a paper instead that compares Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam. According to her father, however, "There was one page on the sayings of Jesus, two-thirds of a page on the sayings of Gandhi, and five pages on Muhammed." In apology, the school has now revised their policy and decided to "eliminate field trips to religious venues from this class, as it does not provide equal representation to all the religions studied in the course unit." This is always what happens after government agents, dubbed "teachers," are caught pushing Islam: the teacher or the principle says he is sorry and that it won't happen again—but by then, the deed has already been done. They know that they can keep pulling this crap as long as they follow it up with an apology and a promise to desist. "Dawa" is the word for what amounts to Islamic evangelism. A website called DawaNet.com states that "schools are fertile grounds where the seeds of Islam can be sowed inside the hearts of non-Muslim students.” But rest assured, there is no attempt to Islamize America. At least, "Islamize" is not the proper word, of course. The state merely wishes to foster "sensitivity" and "understanding." If you want your children to be inculcated into the rich, vibrant culture and unwavering, rock-solid faith of Islam, and to sing the praises of Islam's holy-warring founder with the kindergarten-aged wife, enroll them in a government-run school. The all-knowing, ever-present state will make sure they get the education that you don't know they need.

On September 17, 2001, six days after the worst Islamic terror attacks ever on US soil, President Bush stood next to CAIR’s Nihad Awad at the Islamic Center of Washington DC, and pronounced ‘Islam is Peace’.

Nihad Awad is second from the right. Here’s an excerpt from the President’s speech:
The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That’s not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don’t represent peace. They represent evil and war. …
Women who cover their heads in this country must feel comfortable going outside their homes. Moms who wear cover must be not intimidated in America. That’s not the America I know. That’s not the America I value.
I’ve been told that some fear to leave; some don’t want to go shopping for their families; some don’t want to go about their ordinary daily routines because, by wearing cover, they’re afraid they’ll be intimidated. That should not and that will not stand in America.
Tomorrow President Bush is returning to the Saudi-funded Islamic Center, to address its rededication ceremony—and further legitimize radical Islamic groups masquerading as “moderates,” without once asking them to renounce their openly-expressed support for terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hizballah.
