According to the Hill, Sen. Marco Rubio is planning to introduce a DREAM Act amnesty:

Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.), the only Senate Republican of Hispanic heritage and a possible vice presidential pick, is working on an alternative version of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, which would grant legal status to illegal immigrants who came to the country at a young age and serve in the military or attend college.

The efforts have unnerved Democratic leaders, who are watching warily — Democrats see their advantage over Republicans among Hispanic voters as one of the party’s greatest strengths in November.

Danny Diaz, a Republican strategist who worked on Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) 2008 presidential campaign, said Republicans recognize they need to improve their image among Hispanic voters. “Hispanics are concerned with the economy first and foremost, but if they perceive a party and its candidates to be hostile to an issue like immigration reform, it disallows the conversation to move forward in any meaningful way,” he added. “Republicans have been hurt by the tone and tenor of the conversation. There’s no disputing that.”

Rubio entered the immigration debate earlier this month during an interview with Geraldo Rivera when he hinted at possible common ground for moving forward.

Rubio said the DREAM Act has “a series of problems” as now drafted.

“I do think there is another way to deal with this,” he said. “And I think that one of the debates that we need to begin to have is a difference between citizenship and legalization.

“You can legalize someone’s status in this country with a significant amount of certainty about their future without placing them on a path toward citizenship, and I think that is something that we can find consensus on,” he said.

Moreover, Sen. Rubio has been on Fox News several times recently trumpeting his legislation.

Send a fax to Sen. Rubio and express concern with the article in the Hill and his Fox News apperances. Tell him that any amnesty for illegal aliens is just plain wrong when 20 million Americans cannot find a full-time job.

The Dream Act which includes amnesty or legalization is unacceptable. If Rubio or the rest of the Republicans are attempting to garner the Hispanic vote for the most part it will fail. There are other reasons that they vote Democrat. Why should we pander to an ethnic group that thinks their ethnic group is above our laws anyway?

I had to laugh reading the La Raza forums and blogs. They call Rubio a HINO (Hispanic in name only). Rubio is a Cuban-American. They have nothing in common with Mexican-Americans other than they both speak Spanish. They are saying that Rubio is wandering off the La Raza plantation by not going along with the Democrat's plan to make citizens out of these illegal aliens.

If the Republicans including Rubio are going to give away our country by pandering to a group with a tribal and ethnocentric mindset in direct disrespect of our immigration laws then our country is doomed. We will have no party or policitian willing to stand up for the rule of law and enforce our immigration laws rather than rewarding this group for breaking them. Doesn't matter if these kids were brought here by their parents. They need to go home with their parents and use the education we gave them to improve their own countries. The Dream Act or any other so-called CIR will just attract more illegal aliens into our country. We were promised it wouldn't happen again and that our borders would be secured. Is giving their word to the American people worth nothing?

We have millions of Americans out of work. We don't need these Dreamies being allowed to compete for college seats, tuition, jobs and places in our military.
