Report: '08 turnout same as or only slightly higher than '04
WASHINGTON (CNN) – A new report from American University’s Center for the Study of the American Electorate concludes that voter turnout in Tuesday’s election was the same in percentage terms as it was four years ago — or at most has risen by less than 1 percent.

The report released Thursday estimates that between 126.5 and 128.5 million Americans cast ballots in the presidential election earlier this week. Those figures represent 60.7 percent or, at most, 61.7 percent of those eligible to vote in the country.

Very interesting. If the conservatives get back on track, let Dems do their damage, they will sweep in again for a long time, because conservatives want someone they can feel good about voting for them. Sarah Palin's crowds were larger than McCain's, that should have been their first clue. We need younger, out of the box thinkers in conservative parties. The old school politics isn't going to work any more. Also we need strict guidelines on registering voters, ID demanded at the polling places, etc.

This needs to be passed around. The fact that Democratic turnout was up while Republican turnout was down shows that conservatives did NOT rally around McCain.

Yeah it really makes you wonder why the media constantly kept hammering away on how great it is to get out so many more people to vote when in reality Bush pulled just as many! It seems that the media just makes up crap as they go to keep Obama and the dems squeaky clean and righteous! It makes me so mad!

I don't really think McCain would have made any or many changes to the status quo. It would have been business as usual in DC. Not that it isn't going to be more of the same with Ocommie, other more intrusive government in our lives and pockets.

Well it also helped that Obama rallied his base, Crackheads, Drug Dealers, Gang Bangers, Illegal Aliens and untold hordes from Welfare infested Public Housing projects, that alone is atleast worth 5-8 millon votes.
