Assuming "illegal alien" costume is hispanic racis

Target, ebay, google and other sellers have pulled costume that has the face of space alien, prison suit and green card that is used by countless races of people from all different countires because they say it offends hispanics. This in itself is a racist assumption by these businesses. Why would a united states born hispanic want illegal immigration?Hispanics come in all colors, from serveral different countires yet the media lumps them all into one group.Would it not be considered racist if whites were angry when hundreds of russian, irish and ukranian illegal immigrants were deported in 2008?I am not angry when illegal alien criminals that happen to have the same skin color as me are deported and if I am,then I should be considered a racist. Some years ago,The denver nugguts NBA coach was fired when he was cussed byu a fan and he then called him "a mexican".If I was a mexican, calling me that would not be anymore an insult than if I was called "an american".I do not understand why it is not questioned when the media assumes hispanics want people (even criminals)here illegally not to be deported, cause they are the same race.I say that any assumption like this is racist.Assumptions like this are very racist and insulting to hispanics. They do not want our laws broken anymore than any other group nor is it ok to assume they would be so racist as to not want laws enforced cause criminals share similar culture or shade of skin.Target, ebay, google, etc gave in to real racism and one has to wonder if the executives themselves that stopped the selling of the costume stereotyped hispanics as racist that support breaking of US laws.

Living in South Florida I can honestly say the Hispanics here have a ranking order. There was even an article in the Miami Herald about Hispanic discrimination among each other in hiring in the business section. The Cubans look at themsleves as number one followed by Colombians. I guess that is due back to the cocaine cowboys days of the 80's. The lowest on their list is Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and Central Americans. As for illegals it is their own who exploit them as slave labor. Don't forget that many illegals don't speak English.

Firstly, Hispanic is not a race, but peoples with a shared language from many races. (One guy I worked with was Chinese-Cuban who ended up marrying a woman who was Spanish-German--now figure that one out.)
The important question these days is not race, but are you an American or not. I hate seeing that point being side-tracked to "look how you are bashing us." And for major US companies to crumble to that kind of pressure is a sad thing.

In regards to immigration and being an American

I'd refer you to this quote by Teddy Roosevelt on what it means to be both an immigrant and being an American.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all.
This is just as true of the man who puts “nativeâ€
