President Bush has betrayed us...did you hear THAT, Laura?

By Don Ramakers on May 14, 2006

In a recent interview on Fox News Sunday, Laura Bush says she doesn’t believe the low poll numbers of her husband. Despite the repeated polling and varied sources of those polls, she just doesn’t buy it. Well, that makes sense. Apparently her husband doesn’t buy all the polls that say Americans don’t want amnesty for illegals, want a wall on the border, and want the military on the border too. Not to mention the ones that say we favor drilling in ANWAR and offshore, because that’s the fastest and easiest way to alleviate the oil crunch. Despite all those polls, her husband just goes on about his merry way. There’s a reason, and those of you who are die-hard Bush supporters won’t like hearing it. President Bush is a traitor.

Yes, you heard that right. He is a traitor. He is a traitor to his oath of office, he is a traitor to his party, and he is a traitor to the voters who elected him, the voters he now ignores so he can give this country away to Mexico, one state at a time. Let’s tally it up, shall we?

He’s a real tough guy on defending the country right? Is that why he refuses to enforce our immigration law? Is that why he refuses to tell Mexico to cease supporting the invasion of our country? He loves to spout “national security” ten times a day, but leaves our border wide open. And yes, HE is doing it. Congress authorized funding for 2,000 additional Border Patrol agents two years ago. The agency has deployed less than 200. The Border Patrol actively tells the Mexican government where the Minuteman volunteers and others are patrolling. When the Border Patrol starts getting a little too aggressive, the Mexican government calls the district chiefs and tells them to back off...and they do. Effectively, the Mexicans are running the entire Southwest Border Patrol area, Bush knows it, and does NOTHING. Instead, he calls civilian patrols “vigilantes” and threatens THEM. Since Bush is chief executive of the country and all agencies dealing with immigration enforcement and border security are executive branch agencies, Bush could at any time make them actually do their jobs. Yet, for five years, while ranting about the threat to America, he has refused to do so.

Bush constantly insults Americans every chance he gets by saying, in a tone that sounds like he’s calling us idiots, that we need illegals to “do jobs Americans won’t do.” That’s an insult to us every time he says it, and he doesn’t care, because for some reason he’s more concerned with the rights of illegal Mexicans than with the rights of American citizens. Maybe, just maybe, El Presidente, if we didn’t have a flood of illiterate peasants being aided into this country by YOU, the labor market wouldn’t be artificially depressed and then Americans would do those jobs. Instead, you choose to say to the world that Americans are just too lazy with both your statements and your tone. You could choose to actually let ICE go after easily found illegals, yet every time a photo-op sweep is conducted and the Mexican government protests, that sweep program not only stops but we APOLOGIZE for it.

By the way, do you really believe that the man who lets Mexico run our border and calls Americans “vigilantes” and lazy is putting the National Guard on the border to actually seal it? Of course not. He wants to be able to say “see, I’m enforcing the border” so it will be easier to get his amnesty passed. Once that happens and November is over, those troops will go home. Remember, he could have done it any time since 9/11, but refused. Why now? Not to mention the fact that you can count on those troops being barred from actually stopping illegals, and they will probably be prohibited from carrying loaded weapons, if any. In other words, the National Guard will be there to guard the border, but like the Border Patrol and Minutemen, they won’t be allowed to actually guard it.

Before the election, drilling in ANWAR came up several times, and Bush actively supported it. As soon as the election was over, we get “America is addicted to oil,” followed by a long list of environmental fantasy nonsense. No mention of ANWAR. No mention of the fact that we haven’t built a refinery in this country in almost 30 years, and there’s no more capacity. Even if it started raining oil, gas prices wouldn’t change a wit because there aren’t any refineries to make gas out of it. A brief mention of nuclear, but nothing is being done. Instead we get hydrogen cells, wind, solar, etc., blah blah blah. Our “Big Oil” president is apparently in the pocket of big environmentalism after all. Again, national security? Right.

Even in airline security, the very first thing to get beefed up (if you believe Bush) after 9/11, is a joke. Pilots have been authorized by Congress to carry guns, yet almost none do. Why? Because our “national security” president’s TSA made the screening and training process so intrusive and costly that few pilots want to go through it. Apparently we can trust the pilot with several hundred tons of aircraft and the several hundred lives aboard that aircraft, but only as long as he’s unarmed?! This in addition to the fact that within a month after 9/11, three major airlines were fined millions of dollars for screening too many Arab men! They were fined for racial profiling! And now, those same geniuses that are strip searching white couples with infants while waving through Ahmed al Kaboom (you can’t single out more than two Arabs per flight or you get fined for profiling...I am NOT kidding) have now said it’s okay to carry box cutters and other small blades again. After years of confiscating such dangerous items as (and these are real examples, folks) a G.I. Joe doll’s rifle, the Medal of Honor from a 90+ year old war hero, and of course arresting five men for reading HELICOPTER flight manuals aboard an airliner, we’re not only not allowed to screen for the most likely hijackers, but we’re going to let them have their box cutters back.

This is all Bush’s fault. Why? The idiot and his progeny who are running the FAA and TSA that are doing all this amazingly stupid stuff is Norman Mineta. Norman Mineta of the Clinton Administration! Norman Mineta, of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, which apologized to Japanese interned during World War II, while pointedly leaving out all the Germans and Italians who were similarly interned. In fact, this administration is riddled with Clinton holdovers that Mr. “national security” Bush refuses to get rid of, even though they do things like those described above, and are the source of all the leaks of our CIA and NSA operations. If he cares so much about protecting our country, why has he never done anything about cleaning the Clinton vermin out of our defense agencies? In fact, the one Republican put in charge of the CIA who actually did something about national security just got fired. There’s your reward for actually doing your job in this administration, Porter Goss.

Meanwhile, we continue to die in Iraq. Don’t get me wrong, I supported going to Iraq and I still do. Still, it makes no sense whatsoever to stay there while our airliners are vulnerable, the borders are wide open and in fact are being actively kept that way, and gas is over $3 a gallon because we won’t do anything about it while we sit on more than enough oil to fix the problem for at least fifty years. The fact that Bush’s government is deliberately abetting these issues makes it all that much worse.

So I say to you, Bush supporters, our president has betrayed us. This is not what we voted him in to do. Worse, it is a betrayal of this country’s security and its future, and it is a direct betrayal of the oath of office of the President of the United States. He is not defending us against all enemies; he is attacking or crippling every agency whose job it is to do that.

Impeachment is the word that comes to mind. Directly ignoring or violating the oath of office should qualify for impeachment if nothing else. If the Republicans in Congress, assuming there still are any actual Republicans in Congress (after all, they just reauthorized the Voting Right Act, including multi-lingual ballots...despite the fact that you must be a citizen to vote, and you must know English to be a citizen, so.....), should impeach him immediately. And if they won’t do it, I hope the Democrats win Congress so they can do it. I will support them every step of the way.

I will not vote for another Bush. Do you hear that Laura? If Jeb runs, I will not vote Republican. Bush’s father was a disaster for Republicans, and now so is he. I sure as hell won’t vote for another one. As long as the RINOs in Congress keep supporting this nonsense I will not vote Republican at all. I certainly won’t vote for Democrats; I’ll just stay home on election day. And I know I’m not the only one.

When you’re packing up to leave the White House because your husband just got convicted in a Senate trial, maybe you’ll believe those polls then Laura. They’re being driven down by the people your husband has betrayed., and just maybe we’ll get even by sitting back and letting the Democrats take power in November. Ironically, they want to impeach him for none of the things he actually deserves it for, but hey, sometime we’ll just take what we can get. You can believe THAT at least. After all, that’s how he got elected in the first place.

Bush has always said he does not listen to polls, buckle to threats, or pay any attention to rumors. He does what he feels in his heart.

And I suppose his heart is telling him to back stabb the American people, screw over his Republican party, and to cow tow to President Fox and his 20 million illegal invaders!

Forget impeachment, concentrate on the 25th Amendment to the Constitution

Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution states, "Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President." The Amendment contains other more detailed procedural rules that must be followed.

It is clear that George W. Bush is not mentally capable of carrying out his presidential duties. It is also clear that the Congress and vice president are unwilling to invoke the above constitutional requirements. In the case of a private citizen who is mentally disabled, two next of kin can have the individual institutionalized. In the absence of family members, that responsibility would fall to someone with power of attorney. Lacking power of attorney, law enforcement or another government agency, acting with a judicial warrant, could have the person institutionalized.

In the case of Mr. Bush, his family, vice president, cabinet, and Congress are unwilling to act to remove a clearly mentally incapacitated individual from office.

The U.S. Joint Chiefs, who also took an oath to uphold the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, could seek out a federal judge to authorize the removal of Bush from office.

The argument could be based on an in extremis situation in which a mentally ill president is endangering the public safety and national security and those empowered by the 25th Amendment to initiate removal procedures are unwilling to carry out their constitutional obligations.

U.S. jurisprudence is based on case law. In this case, in the absence of case law, those in authority must think originally and let the courts sort out the matter after the fact. However, having a nuclear arsenal in the hands of a madman intent on using it (the "ticking bomb scenario mentioned in reference to terrorism), leaves no time for wrangling over legal minutia. The Armed Forces clearly have the Constitution on their side in checking the "The Decider."

On election day I do not think to stay at home and to abstain from voting is the right answer. If one does this, they win and we lose. The answer is a Third Party, and we must start to think SERIOUSLY about it NOW.

We need choices, good choices, what we do not have now. It is only: RED or BLUE, and they are fading fast in our hearts.
