How the west is being won
I received a phone call and was offered a job as a Parts and Service Manager. I had known this business for quite some time and the person who made the offer spoke straight english, so I accepted the offer.
I started the job on a week end when the business was fairly slow and only 2 other employees (spanish) were there.
When Monday came around the place was loaded with foreign and mexican customers and emloyees. Only 2 languages were spoken the whole day and english was`nt one of them.
I felt like I was at a messicon auction.("mexican" will no longer be used)
Come to find out the place had just changed hands in ownership.
Where the person that offered the job was, I don`t know, and by the time the day was over, I did`nt care.
I tore up the "unsigned" application and walked out.------------------------

mkfarnam...wow, what a frustating disappointment that must have been. Good for you, indeed, and I wish you the very very best finding another better job.
GRRRRR!!
Just think....that place could have and should have been filled with Americans. Where did the Americans go I wonder? Unemployment? Idleness? Frustration? Depression? Gun Store?
