Pro-Illegal activist is pessimistic about amnesty passing.

I guess Christian Ramirez is smart enough to know that under an economic recesion, the chances of an amnesty bill passing is much less possible.

For those of you who don't know who Christian Ramirez is, he is another Pro-illegal alien activist born in Tijuana and yaps about illegal alien "rights" along with Enrique Morones in the San Diego area.

(Christian) RamÃ*rez is a pessimist with regard to the approval of a comprehensive (Immigration) reform bill in the future, with any chosen presidential candidate. He indicated that McCain has changed his position relating to immigration (now the candidate favors seccuring the border before comprehensive reform) and that no candidate mentions the issue during his campaign. According to RamÃ*rez, the economic crisis makes it more diffucult the type of reform that the central american leaders requested to the UN.

"It has been seen in the history of the US", maintained RamÃ*rez. "When there is an economic crisis, the people tend to blame immigrants, and in this context it is less likely that the president, whom ever he may be, can convince the electorate that it is necessary to legalize to the undocumented."

According to RamÃ*rez, it may be more probable that in the first term of the next president, the government will approve a more extensive program of temporary work than the current one. But these programs are criticized for permiting exploitation. Under the current temporary work system, the migrant visas depend on a particular employer, and if the workers do not like the labor conditions, they are obligated to return to their country of origin.

"It is probable, then, that during the next administration more immigrants will find work legaly, but under a very restrictive state", verified RamÃ*rez. "While the deportations of the undocumented continue.", he said.

My concern is that, if there is an entirely Democratic government, they will shove amnesty down our throats whether we want it or not.

I am so sick of hearing words like "immigrant" and "undocumented" when refering to illegal aliens that I could just upchuck!

I hope there will be no amnesty no matter who is president or what party rules congress. Internal enforcement needs to continue, e-verify needs to be made mandate in the workplace, benefits to non-citizens needs to be cutoff, the birthright citizenship clause changed and we need to get that fence built ASAP!

Not in this economic climate they won't, it will be political suicide for the party as they won't be able to blame the Republicans.

Picture this: Fewer jobs, more illegal aliens. Wages depressed even more, less tax money available for welfare programs. Citizens and illegal aliens fighting for what little there is. What would the Democrats do?
