Help !! Anyone heard about this?
I just received this mail from an organization I am not permitted to post link on this site. Does anyone have more information about this?

Dianne,
As you know, the House announced that it will be holding
"field hearings" later this summer to give citizens a voice
in the immigration debate. This is great news as the House
is responding to pressure from the grassroots against the
Senate Amnesty plan.
Well, not to be outdone, Sen. Arlen Specter then announced
that he will hold his own field hearings -- BEFORE the
House hearings -- undoubtedly in an effort to try to drum
up grassroots support for the amnesty plan.
+ + Important Action: Call Sen. Specter's office
We want to flood Sen. Specter's offices with phone calls from
citizens asking for the details about any hearings that may
take place in their state.
Talking points:
#1 -- I'm a CITIZEN from North Carolina calling about
Sen. Specter's announcement of "field hearings" on
immigration.
#2 -- I OPPOSE the Senate amnesty plan and want to
express my opinion at one of the field hearings.
#3 -- Are there plans for a hearing in North Carolina so I
so I can voice my opposition to the Senate
amnesty plan?
Contact numbers:
Senate Judiciary Committee: 202-224-5225
If you can't get through, call Sen. Specter's office:
202-224-4254
+ + Please call today AND tomorrow
This is so important, I'm asking you to call Sen. Specter's
office today AND tomorrow -- and call back next week if you
can!
Let's let Sen. Specter know that citizens are eager to
voice their opposition to the Senate Amnesty plan!

Yeah, Specter plans on holding hearings ahead of the House.
"Supporters of the Senate bill also plan hearings. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., scheduled a hearing in his state July 5 looking at the need for more foreign guest workers.
I read somewhere else that he plans to hear from landscapers, restaurant owners, and other employers of illegals on why it's critical to their businesses to keep to flood if illegals coming in unabated. Unfortunately, I can't find the source for that at the moment. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

Dianne:
I'm a member of that same group that asked you not to post a link. the reason is because of the letters they receive with peoples names in them (which might open up these people to retribution),
Log on to their website for more information, but from what I've been able t gather, Spector is fighting back against Hastert's "public forum" on immigration. Spector is pretty much backing Bush's Shamnesty plan, and wants to find people in his "field hearings" that support amnesty.
The idea is to call Spector's office to find out where he plans on holding those hearings so that we get a truly balanced amount of people there to ask questions -- not just people who are pro-amnesty.
Does this answer your question?

Yeah, Dianne.......I got the same letter..........
I just don't trust that man, not after what he did at the end of the Senate voting on the Illegal Immigration bill. So I deleted mineEND OF AN ERA 1/20/2009

Ah, here it is.
His July 5 hearing would include farmers, landscapers and hotel industry representatives. An aide to Specter said the shared date of his Philadelphia hearing and House leaders' San Diego event was unintentional. It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

I just want to make sure we find out where those hearings will be so we can be there ourselves to voice our oppositon. He is so dishonest, he will probably schedule secret hearings so only one side of the debate will be put on the table.
I've already called his office and plan to every day until I find out where these hearings are. His office currently says "nothing planned yet"

The same Arlene Spector who added the amendment that we have to consult Mexico if we build a fence?
