    Gullible Americans

    Richard Snyder

    Published: March 24, 2008

Over 60 years ago, my father once said to me that the American people are the most gullible people in the world.

I now consider his statement to be words of wisdom. According to Webster, the word gullible means easily duped: "tending to trust and believe people" and therefore easily being tricked or deceived, being naive, susceptible, and trusting. More than ever before in history, all American citizens are being faced with making a decision that will determine the future and fate of our country, which is slowly being taken away from us.

Will the word "change" be the deciding factor in this election? The media is force feeding us information about change that a lot of Americans are gobbling up. Then there are the "wanting change" groups out there, not considering the change could possibly be for the worse. Remember the last big change America wanted was Jimmy Carter (D) 1977-1981, probably the worst president ever.

Gas prices weren't the problem back then, you just couldn't find any to buy. With a Barack Hussein Obama ticket, we can be assured of higher taxes and relaxed national security.

He has no plans or solutions on how to address the illegal immigration problems, no viable decisions on healthcare and any experience or qualifications for the job.

Question is, what will his changes be? Obama was endorsed by Louis Farrakhan and he has at some time had connections with other undesirables such as Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko.

My father also had another phrase he often used, "birds of a feather flock together." You may call some of the above senator, reverend or minister — sorry — but I'm not that gullible. Bill Ayers is known as an American terrorist and Tony Rezko is an illegal deal maker going to trial. Just how gullible will the American people be in this upcoming presidential election?

Yes, I believe we have been a trusting people...and many have taken advantage of that...including our own government!!!

My father also had another phrase he often used, "birds of a feather flock together."
This is also true... and it says a lot about all three of these TRAITOR presidential candidates!!
Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

I said the exact same thing in another posting. We are a very gullible race and want to trust and believe. Exactly why so many snake oil salesmen like Obama, Clinton and McCain exist.

Gullible = ignorance = citizen failure = STUPID and being STUPID = TREASON. All of those Americans who decide it's no concern to them are traitors.

Beware of the Beserk Insane Obomination. He's a socialist, a traitor and the pied piper for all of those who refuse to educate themselves in regard to illegal immigration and its consequences. He will destroy this nation by fulfilling the goals of the CFR and all of the other liberal (MOD EDIT).

Gullible? Yes, and that accounts for why Americans believe so many conspiracy theories.

I completely agree, we are a gullible people. The best organization I have found has been ALIPAC, and American Solutions. If we can get through the next four years It is time to change the face of politics

Does anyone remember the"most trusted man in America", Walter Cronkite?

Those days are over, thankfully! We are now in the age of the Internet, and we can't be force fed by the MSM anymore! We were gullible in some ways because we trusted and believed everything that was being reported (what choices did we have back then?)...but NO MORE! In a matter of seconds, every lie perpetrated by the criminal politicians is on the blogs...take Shrillary, for instance. She went to Bosnia and was caught up in gunfire at the airport...LOL!!!

We have to make up for lost time and all the lies that were fed to us, but people are beginning to wake up...I just hope it's not too late!

I still believe it's routed in our Christian values.......someone said you couldn't have a successful republic without a moral base. My Dad told me there was never a need to steal because if you really needed something and asked nicely.....9 out of 10 people would be happy to give it to you. I know when I lived in Nebraska during a bad snow storm and the number of times I was left stranded in the middle of no-where.....you couldn't exist if there wasn't an element of trust for other people. I know when they talked about some severe storm in Colorado I think.....the people depended on each other to get through and they did.....many claimed that was the difference for why they were able to manage and Katrina survivors couldn't. It's impossible to live peacefully when you have to fear everyone. It's gotten the point where it's a rare event to find someone who isn't looking for a way to screw you over......can't trust a phone call, can't even be sure the policeman at your door is really a policeman or someone dressed-up to look like one. Can't take anyones word for anything and even when things SEEM like it's on the up and up.....you're still the fool for falling victim. Can't trust the food you eat is safe anymore....nothing.

I don't think Americans are gullible fools....we never would have built this nation without some trust for the good of man-kind. We're just finding it hard to accept there's so many liers, cheats and criminals out there running everything with no regard for people.

I know I sure felt better, happier, about myself and my world when I was a gullible fool than the way I feel now. Seems once we left the good old American values we have sunk to corruption at all levels.
