    What Amnesty REALLY Means

    By John W. Lillpop

Granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, as liberals hope to do, is far more pernicious than bending the rules slightly to accommodate your El Salvadoran gardener or that polite Guatemalean waiter in your favorite fast food restaurant.

    Amnesty literally means that:

    * Politicians elected to serve We the People have willfully decided to ignore existing law when it suits them. This galling "in your face" attitude is found in both parties.

What would happen if We the People were to follow the example set by our leaders and refuse to obey the law when it comes to, say, providing all information requested by census takers, or registering for selective service? Paying taxes?

    * America's immigration system is NOT broken: Existing laws can prevent illegal immigration if enforced. The notion that illegal immigration cannot be prevented is leftist malarkey designed to discourage right thinking politicians from doing what is right on behalf of the American people.

    * Illegal aliens cost America approximately $100 billion a year for education, health care and other public services to which they are not entitled.

YOUR government, the one that refuses to enforce existing laws, has decided to reach into the pockets of American citizens to fund programs for illegal aliens whom would not even be here if government was fullfilling its Constitutional obligations.

    * While illegal aliens are rewarded for breaking and entering our nation, those who wish to come to America legally by following the rules are told to "stand in line and wait your turn."

Whatever happened to "spreading the wealth" in a fair and equitable manner?

    * If a path to citizenship is provided for illegal aliens, those invaders will provide the wayward Democrat party with millions of "instant" voters.

The millions of votes cast for Democrats by former illegal aliens will offset votes cast by legitimate American citizens. That is literally an attempt to overthrow the government with illegal aliens!

Bottom line: Let your elected officials know that you oppose amnesty (defined as anything short of deportation) and demand that existing laws be enforced. NOW!

Furthermore, help the cause by mowing your own lawn, washing your own car, and swearing off high fat, high salt, and high carbohydrate foods found in fast food eateries!

One correction. It's not only so-called "liberals" who want to pass amnesty. The U.S. Chamber of commerce and a number of other large associations are behind amnesty, and I would argue many people would classify these groups and the people behind them as conservatives.

In my opinion the terms "liberal" and "conservative" are rarely useful since they are too broadbrush and often inaccurate.

The fact is there are both so-called liberals and conservatives who support amnesty.

Liberals like Harry Reid in the Senate are the main culprits here. The Chamber of Commerce has no Constitutional obligation to enforce the law--Congress does.

Conservatives kept amnesty from becoming law in 2007!

    What Amnesty really means

Our family has always mowed our own yard, reroofed our home, taken care of our children without nannies or daycare, wash our own cars and seldom eat out. I prefer my Tx Mx food cooked at home.

The illegal immigrant situation has gotten so far out of hand that our country, as we knew it, is dying. My spouse and I have make some hard decisions about what we will do if the current government grants another amnesty and continues on this path to Social destruction.
We are planning to quit our well paying jobs and head for small town USA. Most small towns have limited illegal populations because there are no landscaping, construction, or housecleaning jobs available. Many small town folks hire local neighbors when they need help, not outsiders. We like the small town mindset and the slower paced lifestyle. True, we won't make much money, and health insurance will be too expensive for middle-agers like us. But at least we will no longer be feeding the government machine that dictates to the people what they must accept, and steals the money we have paid all of our working lives to Social Security.
We are empty nesters now. We know how to garden, build a small home, and live a simple, low income life. It is a sacrifice we must make to keep our convictions alive. Many patriotic Americans are faced with difficult decisions. Ours is to stop paying so much in taxes to a corrupt government that refuses to listen to the will of its people.

    Save America...

I understand what your trying to say.

In my opinion it was the outrage of Americans that stopped Amnesty in 2007. If Americans had not stood up Amnesty would have passed despite the "conservatives" in Congress.

I also believe that Reid would fight Amnesty if there was a big enough payoff for him. It's not about ideology...it's about power, in my opinion.

Im with you on this Texan123. You are lucky to be in a position to up and leave if you need to...many of us aren't. I wish I could. If you want to take it a step further, you might want to look into a rural home that is partially or totally off the grid (well, solar, wind power). If Dumbo Ears has his way our energy costs will skyrocket. This is what I'd do as I am tired of feeding the "greed monster" that our govt has become. It's sad that we will be forced to work twice as hard for half as much due in part to IA's bleeding us dry. Believe me, here in CA we feel it...
