Boycott
It’s easy enough to blame the illegals for being here. Yes, they broke laws to come here, their presence here is breaking a law every day. They continue to break laws while here, often stealing American’s identification so they can work and buy things.
But these people would not be coming here if Americans did not employ them. The reason these employees are so attractive to so many employers, big and small, is because they are cheaper--not cheaper in pay, they make the same wage as any American would. The difference is this: the employer need not pay their contribution to FICA or various other local and federal taxes, and for workers comp and unemployment insurance and more importantly, for the bookkeeping and accounting that goes with all this on a legal American employee.
So what do we do? Run around shrieking about cattle cars and concentration camps? Yeah, that makes sense. We want to turn into Nazis to fix this problem.
Maybe we could do what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. enjoined black Americans to do in the South in the 1950s and 1960s. The boycotts of bus lines and department stores that depended upon these “second class citizensâ€
