New Term for illegals
Since the orign of MOST of the "illegal immigrants" are from Mexico, I have come up with a new term that, I think, better describe what they really are.
ILLEGAL MEXICAN SQUATTER
According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, the definition of a squatter is:
a : one that settles on property without right or title or payment of rent.
b : one that settles on public land under government regulation with the purpose of acquiring title.
I bet we won't see that term on the nightly news! It's not PC!The number of my posts shouldn't determine or reflect my interest on the board. I don't post just to increase my ranking.

Well, you will find that we do not make a big deal about Mexicans here because we have illegal immigrants coming in from all over the world.
Using the word Mexican to describe illegal immigrants is not fully accurate.
ALIPAC is concerned about illegal aliens from around the world, including Eastern Europe and Russia as well as many nations hostile to the US.

yes I think it's a good name- but the media wont even use the word illegal most of the time-
here in oregon - most the of illegals are from mexico- They have the I-5 corridor and california - ( the other mexico)
it's really difficult for 20 million eastern europeans to get over the border - so for me the problem is largely mexican -

It seems that way to me too, Rebecca. At least, 95% of the news reports about crime suggest that is the case. OF COURSE, we need to worry about ALL illegals but the preponderance of the evidence suggests that Mexico is the source for MOST of the problem.

IMO, there are two reasons for this.
- Mexico is close.[/*:m:3420rxlw]
- If they let a concentration of one ethnicity in and let it become the focus then they can use it as their fighting front.[/*:m:3420rxlw]
Just like the h-1b issue. If they focus on Indians then opposition will become blinded and will become focused on that one ethnic group, there for, the weakness for counter attack.
This gives them the ability to point their dirty finger at their opposition and the use of the race card.
Now you will start to look for articles about other nationalities and they will be scarce but does that mean that they don’t exist or is it that the propaganda machine being selective in what they disseminate?"I can because I will, I will because I can" ME

That might be true about others but I still contend that the MAJORITY would be from Mexico. I think next would be from other Central American countries and the proximity to the border WOULD be one of the reasons. BUT, I think the OTHER reason that is equally as important is that Bush is ALWAYS talking about ENFORCEMENT FOR OTM's and just conveniently omits the M's. Maybe that is because of his best AMIGO, Vicente. I just think we should call a spade a spade as we always have done in the past and I say that based on hard evidence in the past.

Some people just 'wander' right in uninvited and believe that we 'owe' them automatic citizenship, JUST BECAUSE. Are they really the kind of people we want here, if their own government is pushing them over the fence? I say build the tallest fence in the world and put troops on the border.RIP Butterbean! Like I've posted before--I have a very close friend in Ireland whom I call my "adopted daughter" who tried FOR YEARS to get a work Visa and wasn't able to get one. They have a lottery for them and she submitted requests several years in a row to no avail. THAT is where I see such discrimination. She is a very bright, college-educated young woman who SPEAKS ENGLISH and would be as ASSET to our country yet all we get are people who refuse to assimilate, have broken laws and, in MANY instances, continue that path once they get here. So, the lesson here is that, in order to get here legally, you must follow the legal channels and sit back and watch the country be flooded by ILLEGALS.
