Mexican produce imports to U.S. halted

Buyer beware...don't buy produce from Mexico and ask your grocer to take it off the shelves ....probably a good idea to AVOID Mexican restaurants and Mexican cuisine.

Shipments across the border are to be halted Monday on certain items--why weren't the shipments halted immediately instead of waiting for Monday?

My mother told me that WE can grow MORE than enough of our OWN fruits and vegetables for HOME consumption!

Oh hell no! Never in a million years. I can't go a week without eating Mexican food. You have to remember one thing. There are restaurants that serve Mexican food but don't necessarily import their fruits from Mexico.

But if you're not sure, then you would do good in avoiding ALL restaurants if you're worried about where they get their inventory from. What's to stop Italian restaurants from using Mexican produce in their foods.

Cilantro peppers, bananas and avocados aren't real big in Italian kitchens would be my guess.
