BEWARE - YOU TOO WILL SPEAK SPANISH IF YOU DON'T CARE

We all understand what is going ON with the Spanish language. It is now creeping up everywhere. 1) in schools where we now get letters, information in both English and Spanish (we're just making sure the Spanish speaking parents are informed the say). Kids may also being taught spanish as a matter of course. Activities in Spanish etc. 2) more and more businesses have their web sites with en espanol link and they make you press 1 for English and another number for Spanish. 3) Government in Spanish - check California, teh south west. Federal, state, local goverment services in Spanish. 4) the Spanish language media with more and more presence and Univision articulating exactly where this is going with people like Jorge Ramos asking at 2 democratic presidential primary debates when Spanish will have parity with English because of the overwhleming demographic reason with more and more Hispanics!

ARE YO KIDDING ME? WHAT ELSE DO WE NEED TO KNOW? MULTILINGUILISM IS GREAT FOR INDIVIDUALS BUT DISASTROUS FOR NATIONS.

WE ABSOLUTELY NEED TO CHALLENGE THOSE HISPANIC SOCIO ETHNOCENTRIC ADVOCACY GROUPS WITH THIS ISSUE AND START WITH MAKING ENGLISH THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE, PERIOD.

I already speak Spanish my parents and two of my granparents could as well.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I would advise any kid in school at any grade or age to learn Spanish. It will give them an advantage many of us don't have. It helps to know what the Spanish speakers are up to. It would be helpful if all of us learned Spanish in school. When I was going to school that was the last language anyone would have dreamed of learning. No one took Spanish. But look how things have changed. The Government show give free classes to all Americans who want them. 'They' will not learn English so it would help if we learned Spanish. It helps to have that advantage.

i think we need to revive German then. Wouldn't that be fair to the more than 55 million Americans of German descent?

Recently, I turned on my cell phone and tried to get my voicemail and it started out with Press 1 for English and immediately went to spanish, I tried it again because it never used to be that way, and it said it again. I went to the cell phone office and told them I wanted it removed and they removed it right away because they knew I wan't happy, but I don't understand why if it ain't broke why they have to fix it.

When I was in elementary school in the 50's we took Spanish until the 6th grade, I remember doing fine until we had a new teacher that had a different dialect and totally confused us.

My grandaughter took if for two years in High School (always made an A) but didn't want to take it anymore because they brought in a teacher that spoke very little English. She said she would get mad if the kids asked her to repeat herself because they couldn't understand her and tell them to put their heads down on the desk.

I am not sure if there are differences in the Spanish language, but I know that in India there are so many dialects that they all speak English so that they can communicate.
