Members of Congress need to see your faxes NOW

DEAR FRIENDS,

www.numbersusa.com/actionbuffet

Members of congress and their staffs need to see your immigration faxes today, all weekend and all next week.

Our overall NumbersUSA membership's faxing has fallen off considerably this month. It is most important that the staffers of all Members of Congress see that their constituents continue to be worked up and motivated by immigration issues.

Please go to your customized Action Buffet corkboard right now and send every fax with which you agree.

(Remember that you can modify and rewrite every fax to fit your particular opinion.)

While you are on your corkboard, take a look at other opportunities for action.

WATCH ME DEBATE 300 MILLION TOPIC ON NATIONAL CABLE

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RNjPRRfEizs

You probably noticed that most media tried to make excuses for our immigration policies that have added another 100 million people to our country in the last 39 years.

Fortunately, I did get an opportunity to at least get a contrarian word in stories in the Wall Street Journal, Cox Newspaper chain, Chicago Tribune, New York Times and others.

Here's a link to a You Tube video clip of a 10-minute debate between me and William Frey of the Brookings Institution on the Bloomberg News cable network.

Although we at NumbersUSA don't specialize in doing media, we take advantage when the opportunities arise. Many of you in the past have asked for a chance to see some of this, so we will try to do better in the future at providing you clips and alerting you to upcoming appearances if we get enough advance notice.

NOTE NEW FEATURES ON YOUR ACTION BUFFET CORKBOARD

Responding to a request from many of you, we have changed your corkboard so that it displays ALL action notes and not just the top nine.

1. You will no longer see a link at the top for ALL MY ACTIONS because all of your actions will be displayed right on the corkboard.

2. Secondly, you will notice that in the upper left hand corner -- just below the NumbersUSA logo -- is the name of the person who is logged in (hopefully that is your name). For those of you in households where more than one person uses the computer, this will keep you from sending faxes in somebody else's name.

3. You can now remove an Action note from your corkboard if you don't want to take the action and don't want to see it any more.

When you put your cursor over the thumbtack, you will see the words NO THANKS.

If you click on the thumbtack or NO THANKS, that note will disappear. You won't be able to see it again.

This is a feature some of you requested so that you can keep your corkboard more tidy. Every time you take an action, the note goes off the corkboard. But you now can remove a note without taking the action.

IF YOU WANT TO LOOK AT AN ACTION LATER, DO NOT CLICK ON THE 'NO THANKS'.

4. Just underneath the yellow navigation strip in the upper right, you will see some icons that will allow you to display on your corkboard only Fax notes, or Phone notes, or Info notes, etc.

This is to assist you when you have a lot of action notes and you want to focus on just one kind of action.

(Each time you leave the corkboard, it will reset to ALL notes.)

REASONS FOR TAKING ACTIONS AT THIS TIME

With the elections less than three weeks away, we need all incumbents of both Parties to feel the pressure to promise as much as possible on our side.

We know that all incumbents have seen the polls showing that immigration reductions are the preference of most voters.

So, the incumbents know that if pressed, they need to make promises on our side if they are concerned at all about how the election is going to come out.

But they won't do that unless they feel immigration is a burning issue among their constituency.

Secondly, all those incumbents will be coming back in November after the elections for a Lame Duck session. It is imperative that they be pushed to promise that they will not use that session to increase immigration in any way -- or to grant legalization to illegal aliens.

THANKS,
