How to Fine and Punish the Criminals and their Supporters

I understand that felonies are expensive to prosecute and can require a 12 man jury trial.
    I have a solution!

You enter this country illegally, it's a misdemeanor,
and for every day you are here it's another misdemeanor,
and for using any public services it’s another,
and if you earn any income it’s another,
and for evading arrest it's another,
and for not leavening it's another.
And for not thanking the Border Patrol for hauling your tail home,
it's another for each offended officer.

I'm talking Class 1 Misdemeanors, not the weak Class 4's
For Class 1 misdemeanors, confinement in jail for up to twelve months and a fine of up to $2,500, either or both.

Really, by the sounds of the following, the "jury trial" and "court expense" are not the real reason the Senate is not agreeing to the felony convictions. I think they are buckeling. Well, there are still expenses associated with Juries for misdemeanors. If you are a multiple offender, heck yes you should be convicted of a felony.
Three strikes and you are going down and Bubba is waiting.

I say pile on an load of misdemeanor charges. Letting them off on a simple misdemeanor is not going to discourage them from breaking our laws. They should pay and pay and pay. Take that all you "slap them on the wrist" people!

Misdemeanor Trials are either "jury trials" or "court trials." A jury in a misdemeanor case consists of 6 jurors. In some cases, the parties may agree to have the case decided by a judge, rather than a jury. This is usually done because of the cost and time associated with conducting a jury trial - court trials being quicker and less expensive. Both the defendant and the prosecution have a constitutional right to a jury trial. Therefore, both parties must agree to waive a jury before the case can be heard as a court trial. Most misdemeanor jury trials last one day and are usually held on Fridays. Most misdemeanor court trials last from half an hour to a half day and are held on Wednesdays.

I randomly took this from Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney, Blackfoot, Idaho http://www.co.bingham.id.us/Prosecutor/

Here is my idea of a few solutions:
Make it a felony to be here illegally and have the law go into effect within a year. That gives an illegal enough time to sell any property, raise the money for their ticket HOME ( which usually means south of the border ).
Let those who are on welfare be cut off of it in the space of one month. That's the time they give to Americans. Set up a court specifically for the cases that will be appealed so as not to clog up other courts. People might whine if the children of illegally are separated BUT that happens to women who are put in jail so sorry, can't use that one to get sympathy from me. In a worse case scenario, the illegal mother should NEVER be allowed ot jump to the front of the line because she had a kid. And she should, at best, get a conditional green card ( conditional in that the kid has to stay in school and learn English and have decent grades or momma gets deported ). OR Mexico might want to make some sort of deal where the children of illegals could go back to Mexico with their parents and then the illegals can APPLY to come here ( if there is no felonies ).
Now we know this is not going to happen but it would be nice if it were so.
We do not need these moochers nor do we want them. I am so sick of the spin. As far as those who are illegal and work with false identity who might actually work hard? It doesn't matter, they are still here illegally and are working illegally.
So.make it a felony, give them a year's grace to LEAVE and then if they are STILL here illegally bust them, DNA and fingerprint them and NEVER allow ANY Mexican felon back in the US.
There are people who have waited for years, some of their families wait for 10 years or more to come here legally. So why should some illegal come here, get pregnant and then expect to cut to the front of the line?
