    Wachovia responds- they take matricula consular- ITIN for CC

    Please be advised, Wachovia does not offer a specific credit card
    product like the one Bank of America is testing. Wachovia requires a
    credit history and a social security number (SSN) or individual tax
    identification number (ITIN) to apply for a credit card.

    To open checking, savings and money market accounts, Wachovia, along
    with many other US banks, accepts the matricula consular (an ID card
    provided by the Mexican Consulate to its citizens) as a form
    identification. We began accepting this form of identification in
    November 2002.

    So the difference is that BoA doesn't require a credit history? Pretty weak Wachovia.

    You're right, that's the clincher that makes Wachovia just as bad as Bank of America.

    ITIN should stand for Illegals Tax Identification Number.

    How much are illegal aliens recieving in earned income tax credits this year. You know, more than they "paid-in"???????

    Can the IRS give us some of those numbers? How much did we donate to illegal aliens this year?
