    DEAL OR NO DEAL

Did anyone watch the program 'Deal or No Deal' last night? One of the contestants was a Mayor, and he had his wife as well as some council members with him. As they were all being introduced, one lady gave her name and said "I AM HERE TO REPRESENT THE HISPANIC PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY." WHAT NERVE!
These people are nothing but SEPARATISTS, and all they want to do is dry up and take advantage of every single resource they can from us. I'm so FED-UP!

These people are nothing but SEPARATISTS,
How true. We were pushed and shoved and conned and coerced into accepting all these different people into our society since I was in grade school in the 1950's but they don't seem to have any qualms about keeping themselves separate. They don't seem to feel ashamed to advertise "Hispanic Chamber of Commerce" "Hispanic Job Fair" or any other labels that exclude all but Hispanics.

I dunno about the diversity dividing, Pat. I know of people who refer to themselves as some hyphenated group but they don't go out of their way to isolate themselves the way others do. I think it is the people who contribute the least who expect the most and those are the ones doing the dividing with their hyphens. But I don't even think of those people as Americans at all anymore so I guess it's sort of tit for tat.

Yeah, that's kind of like out here in CA. At some of the public schools there are "special" groups for hispanic parent/guardians and they have special meetings just for them. Now, what would happen if asked for a white parent group?
